Presented by IPWEA NSW & ACT in partnership with LG Professionals, NSW, the forum will feature presentations, panel discussions and a facilitated workshop focused on key issues including fair value, depreciation, long-term renewal planning, asset condition data, service levels and local government sustainability.

Hear from NSW Auditor-General Bola Oyetunji GAICD, who will share insights into financial accountability, governance and the role of sound asset management in achieving sustainable outcomes for councils, alongside a panel of experienced local government leaders and industry experts.

Join sector leaders for a day of practical discussion, collaboration and knowledge sharing, followed by networking drinks.

Councils across NSW are invited to participate in the 2026 Asset Benchmarking Survey, which is now open. This important biennial project provides a snapshot of the condition and performance of road and bridge assets across the local road network and plays a key role in RTD’s advocacy efforts for funding and policy reform on behalf of councils. Complete the survey here: https://secure.ipwea.org/Web/SSO/Plus/IPWEAPlus.aspx

To support councils through the data collection process, RTD is hosting a webinar on Wednesday 16 September from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. The session will provide an overview of the Asset Benchmarking Project, explain the data collection requirements, demonstrate the data collection portal, and offer an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and troubleshoot any issues.

If you’re involved in asset management, roads, transport, engineering or data collection, this webinar is a valuable opportunity to learn more about the project and ensure your council is prepared.
