Very disappointing to see.

UNAUTHORISED ENTRY TO OUR FIRE STATION

At 1129am this morning a male wearing a fluro orange adidas shirt with white stripes on the shoulders, a gold chain necklace, black track pants, white adidas runners with orange stripes (adidas Adizero SL2 running shoes) a bracelet on his right wrist and watch on the left entered our fire station via the rear door and left 8 minutes later carrying an item of equipment.

Yes we have very clear footage and sound and yes we’ll make a police report - however we’ll give you the opportunity to return the item to our back door tomorrow.

We’re sure you made an error of judgement taking from an emergency service, and a volunteer one to boot!

Please share our post in the hope that this person gains a conscience.

Hi Community, we are now in Non Bushfire Danger period which means you no longer require a permit for burning garden waste from your properties, there are however a few steps you need to do before lighting up.
Ensure you are only burning garden waste, no building materials, tyres, mattresses, treated timber etc.
Notify all of your adjoining neighbours and give them at least 24 hrs. notice of your intended burn.
Register your burn online with the NSW RFS by completing this link https://nswrfsprod.service-now.com/guardian_csp?id=guardian_cat_item&sys_id=9e19819bc361f1d04a9cdc31150131ad
Ensure you have plenty of water nearby to extinguish if needed.
Don't leave the fire unattended at any time.

Also its good idea to check the weather a few days ahead and if we are due for hotter or windy days, ensure your fires are fully out.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if crews ended up in the terrible situation of a fire overrun?
Tomerong 1 is fitted with overrun protection sprays and wheel well sprays to protect crews if this were to unfortunately happen.

Today crews responded to reports of a lawnmower alight parked underneath a shed in the village of Tomerong. Crews arrived within minutes of the initial page to find a small lawnmower alight. Crews extinguished and cooled the mower before returning home.

UPDATE 1400hrs: The Hiway is now open in both directions.
Crews on scene at an MVA forest road x princess hiway. Traffic is flowing but it is slow. Please use caution in the area.

Last nights training session @ Tomerong focussed on all things pumps and water!
Crews spent the evening with DC Craig being run through hydraulics, pumping relays, getting water from static water sources, attack line techniques and portable pumps.
Refreshing these skills not only ensures that we have the ability to fill the truck with water when there isn’t a hydrant, but also highlights the importance of good pump and hydraulic work to enable us to deliver water over almost any distance and keep operators safe.
