National Sorry Day Reflection!

Last week, Mr Nugent led a commemorative National Sorry Day assembly, encouraging every student to create a purple native hibiscus as a symbol of remembrance, reflection and hope.

Today, those beautiful blooms stood proudly on our hill, bathed in the afternoon sunlight. 💜☀️

Together, they serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of acknowledging the past, listening to stories, and walking forward with understanding, respect and reconciliation.

A simple but meaningful display created by many hands and hearts.

🥁🎶 This term in Music, Miss Kennedy has been making plenty of noise as students explore percussion, rhythm and beat!

Here’s a snippet of the awesome lesson our 1/2 yellow students completed. Through hands-on activities, teamwork and lots of fun, students have been developing their musical skills while keeping the beat together.

Every Thursday morning, our Kinder Red students are lucky to spend time with Michelle from the AECG, who works as an Early Childhood Community Engagement Officer (ECCEO).

The ECCEO role supports Aboriginal children and families from their early childhood years through to their first year of school, helping to ensure they are engaged, culturally nourished and empowered to thrive. Through building strong relationships with students, families, schools and the wider community, Michelle helps strengthen connections and support successful transitions to school.

Our students love spending time with Michelle each week, whether it’s sharing stories, learning together, or simply building connections and a strong sense of belonging.

We are so grateful for Michelle’s ongoing support!

Flourish is a spectacular celebration of creativity, collaboration and performance, bringing together students from across our Bongil Bongil Community of Schools. Students from Toormina Public School, Toormina High School, Sawtell Public School, Boambee Public School, Bonville Public School, Crossmaglen Public School and William Bayldon Public School will take to the stage to showcase their incredible talents in music, dance and drama.

Across two exciting days audiences will be treated to an unforgettable display of passion, dedication and artistic excellence from students across our Bongil Bongil Community of Schools.

This is more than a performance – it’s a celebration of what happens when our schools come together to create something truly special.
