Snowy Valleys Council multipurpose evacuation centre is now open🏀🏀🏀

A sensational day filled with very happy sports enthusiasts, project managers, builders and best of all active kids .

This is a fabulous asset which is really multipurpose . May we be in no hurry to use it as an evacuation/triage centre.

In the meantime bring on basketball , footsal, pickle ball , netball, cricket bowling and many more sports . Conferences , dances and meetings topped off with barista made coffee.

A great effort taking over 20 years. Congratulations to all involved. You are the real stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Khancoban is booming! Snowy Hydro is building 84 units to house short and long term employees.

These flash looking houses are made by Pre fabulous Modular Homes and put in place by Joss.

Site foreman, Jarrod Heaphy, showed Justin Clancy MP and I around. Looking forward to seeing the finished project.

Just an edit : this project is for accommodation for workers involved in the maintenance of Murray 1 & 2 power stations.

There is no intent for the units to be rented out to the general public.

Celebrating 50 years of
Australia and over 30 years Tumut Probus.

Councillors and Snowy Valleys Council executive joined with Probus members to discuss their goals of Fellowship, Friendship and Fun. What great goals to learn and laugh… it is also a no fundraising zone. After years of street stalls and raffles this is a welcome break.

Men and women welcome to be part of this collegial group. They are looking for new members.

Congratulations and love may this valuable local group continue 👏

The Pioneer Women's Hut Museum at the Glenroy Heritage Reserve is a unique, volunteer-run museum located at 449 Tumbarumba Road, Glenroy (near Tumbarumba). It honors the resilience, resourcefulness, and daily lives of early rural Australian pioneer women through domestic artefacts, scrapbooks, and a renowned heritage quilt collection.

A small volunteer group meet quarterly to discuss the museum and make it work. Thanks to Tracey, Anne, Neil, Bruce Wright and Doug for the meeting today.

AGM is 4th November at 1.30pm. All welcome to be part of this awesome museum.

Governor of New South Wales Margaret Beazley hosted the Sculpture by the Sea to celebrate 30 years🎉👏🎉 An amazing feat as the world’s largest free outdoor sculpture exhibition.

Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail was started post 2019-2020 bushfires when David Handley saw the beauty of the area and realised the potential to make a world class sculpture trail in the beautiful, picturesque Snowy Valleys.

Her Excellency , Margaret Beazley was very proactive,post fires, visiting multiple times. Listening, caring, and being sure to acknowledge youth who were impacted . Very grateful for her ongoing support 🙏

Attending from Snowy Valleys Council area was Sculpture by the Sea board member , Cr James Hayes,OAM, Karen Hayes, President Tumut Art society, Mary Anderson, Robyn Sweeney, Jeff Sheather, Angela Pearce and Angela Lyons who have all been part of the curatorial team choosing sculptures for our area.
