This will be a great day. The Region 2 Ops Brigade has been invited also. We'll be there with the ISV. A one of a kind communications appliance. Come along and check out all the CFS appliances.

September 27th from 10am to 2pm at Nuriootpa fire station, 8 Old Kapunda road Nuriootpa. We are hosting an open day!

CFS Region 2 Operations Brigade , R2 Air Ops, Kapunda State Emergency Service and Barossa Ambulance will all be in attendance to show what they do.

Come along to see live demonstrations, hands on displays, up close look at local emergency services appliances plus much more.

OTH CFS Brigade Open Day Saturday 5th of September will feature vehicles from our fellow Emergency services, the Metropolitan Fire Service, SA Police and SA Ambulance Service, Fire Prevention Council officers and our local Regional CFS Community Engagement Officer.

From Monday 14 September 2026, CFS is making some changes to how we communicate with the community.

What's changing?
❎️The public email warning list will be discontinued.
❎️The CFS X (Twitter) account, , will be discontinued.
❎️The automated CFS Facebook Updates page will no longer operate.

What stays the same?
You can still receive warnings and updates through:
✅ Alert SA
✅ The CFS website
✅ The main CFS page
✅ Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok

📱 Heads up South Australia!

At 1:30 pm ACST (SA local time) on Monday 27 July, compatible mobile devices across South Australia may receive the AusAlert national test notification.

The test alert will make compatible devices vibrate and play a loud siren-like sound, even if your device is on silent or do not disturb. It will clearly identify itself as a TEST and no action is required.

AusAlert is a new national emergency messaging system being developed by the Commonwealth Government to help deliver critical warning information during emergencies.

Another year of fantastic efforts by all CFS volunteers going above and beyond for our community

Over the past 12 months, South Australian Country Fire Service volunteers and staff responded to 10,058 incidents across the state. From bushfires and structure fires to road crashes, hazardous materials incidents and community assistance.

Every response represents the dedication, skill and commitment of our volunteers and staff, supported by their families, employers and communities. Thank you to everyone who makes this service possible and stands behind our people every step of the way.

Today is Thank a First Responder Day.

A national initiative led by Fortem Australia that encourages Australians to express their gratitude to

June 10th is the day to recognise the people who attend emergencies, respond to disasters, provide medical assistance, and help keep us safe every day. The day also acknowledges the families who support fire and emergency service workers and volunteers who protect and support communities across the country.st responders behind the scenes, often making significant sacrifices of their own.

Across Australia, first responders attend countless incidents that most of us hope we never have to encounter. These situations are often unpredictable, physically demanding, and emotionally challenging, however first responders perform their duties with professionalism and commitment. Their contribution is woven into the safety and resilience of every community.

Thank a First Responder Day reminds us that behind every emergency response vehicle is a person who has chosen a profession or volunteer role dedicated to helping others during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Today we take the time to show our appreciation for our dedicated Region 2 Ops Brigade volunteers and their supportive families, Thank you.

Severe Weather Warning
for DAMAGING WINDS

For people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of Murraylands, North West Pastoral, North East Pastoral and Riverland districts.

Issued at 10:16 am Sunday, 31 May 2026.

Damaging winds to affect South Australia from Monday morning.

Weather Situation: A strong cold front will sweep across the state during Monday bringing isolated damaging wind gusts to much of the state. A deep low pressure system will follow later on Monday bringing a broader damaging wind risk over western parts of the state, extending eastwards to the Adelaide region, central, and southeastern parts during Monday evening as the low passes to the south of Adelaide overnight.

DAMAGING WINDS GUSTS to 90 km/h are possible across western and central parts of the state from late Monday morning, affecting Adelaide and the Mt Lofty Ranges from the early afternoon.

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with gusts to 100 km/h become likely about the West Coast, Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula during Monday afternoon, extending to the remainder of the warning area, including Adelaide and the southeast, during Monday evening.

DAMAGING WINDS are expected to ease over coastal and low lying areas, including Adelaide, during Tuesday morning, and then gradually ease over the Flinders Ranges and Mt Lofty Ranges during Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Strathalbyn, Maitland, Whyalla, Mount Gambier, Ceduna and Port Augusta.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.

The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 pm ACST Sunday.
