A proud moment for our CEO today, who was selected by students from Wellington High School to be featured in a film project highlighting leaders in our community.

The students were asked to choose local leaders who inspire change, create opportunities, and contribute to the future of Wellington. We are incredibly proud that our CEO was recognised for the work being done alongside our community, young people, and families.

A huge thank you to the students and staff for sharing these stories and celebrating local leadership. We canโ€™t wait to see the finished project and the powerful perspectives of our young filmmakers.

Some deadly didge work from Bruce Carr to open todayโ€™s Sorry Day gathering โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

A powerful way to begin the day, bringing culture, strength, and connection through music. Thank you Bruce for sharing your talent and creating such a strong atmosphere for everyone there today.

A powerful day in Wellington, listening to Uncle Les bravely share his story as a survivor of the Stolen Generations.

His strength, resilience, and courage to speak his truth is something that will stay with everyone who had the privilege of listening. Stories like Uncle Lesโ€™ are so important โ€” they help keep truth-telling alive, honour our history, and remind us of the ongoing healing within our communities.

Thank you Uncle Les for sharing your journey, your wisdom, and your voice with us all. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

Today we marched not just for land, but for our future, our culture and the rights our old people fought so hard for.
These photos capture the strength, unity and determination of our people standing together against the proposed Crown Lands Amendment Bill. We will not stay silent while Aboriginal Land Rights are threatened.
Our voices matter. Our land matters. Our communities matter. โœŠ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

The NSW Treaty Commissioners are travelling across the state to sit down with Aboriginal communities and yarn about what Treaty could mean for us here in NSW.

Theyโ€™ll be in Wellington on Wednesday 13th May at the WINS Community Centre from 10am to 12pm.

At each session, theyโ€™re asking two questions:
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ Do Aboriginal communities want a Treaty or another formal agreement-making process? And if so, what should this process look like?

Community members and stakeholders can:
Attend a face to face consultation
Wednesday 13th May 2026
10am-12pm
WINS Community Centre
Complete an online survey:
Adult Survey
Youth Survey
Make a written (formal or informal) or video submission
Submission
Contact the Commission directly to share views or discuss participation:
[email protected]

You donโ€™t need to be an expert or come with a set opinion. Whether you choose to sit and listen, or share your story and ideas, your presence matters. These sessions are for Aboriginal communities only, Elders, young people, families, and community members are all welcome.

This is your opportunity to make sure our voices, hopes, and concerns help shape the path forward. โœจ

Currently, we are confronted by a Bill that poses a direct threat to our Land Rights. This legislation has the potential to undermine the progress we have made and jeopardise our future. For this reason, we must remain diligent and unwavering in our opposition.

Our continued vigilance is crucial. By working together and staying focused on our shared goal, we can ensure that our Land Rights are preserved for generations to come. Let us remain united and proactive in defending what we have fought so hard to achieve.

Good luck to everyone involved๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ
