Our Wednesday group has been working hard over the past few weeks creating their adorable Easter bunnies 🐰

Using papier-mâché, the group carefully built their bunnies from scratch—ripping paper, mixing the paste, and shaping each one before bringing them to life with paint and their own unique flair. From choosing colours to adding the final accessories, every bunny turned out beautifully different!

A huge thank you to Taylah and Richelle for their ideas, creativity, and dedication to our clients on this project. This activity supported the development of fine motor skills and encouraged creativity, patience, and decision-making along the way.

The excitement and pride on completion day were wonderful to see, as everyone finally got to take their creations home to show off to family and friends 💛

This brings the group together to build independence, friendships, and important life skills.

Over the past week, we’ve enjoyed a number of Easter celebrations! 🐣

Our Seniors Group celebrated on Friday, followed by our Centre Group on Wednesday. While the Easter Bunny had other commitments during the seniors' party, he certainly made up for it at the Centre Group celebration with a rather dramatic crash-and-bang entrance! He was having so much fun he didn’t want to leave and eventually had to be escorted out—much to everyone’s amusement, creating plenty of laughter and entertainment.

We also held an Easter hat competition, and the ladies truly went above and beyond with their creativity and effort. Our independent judge, Grayson, had the difficult task of choosing a winner and ultimately selected Cindy Loo for her fantastic chicken hat. Congratulations, Cindy Loo! 🐥🎩

Cindy Loo recently joined our day groups and brought along a fun Easter surprise — a jar full of Easter eggs for everyone to guess!

There were plenty of guesses, some close and some way off, but Haylie guessed the exact number — well done, Haylie! We hope you enjoyed sharing your prize with your family.

Kellie celebrated her birthday with her social group on Monday and was certainly not expecting a surprise party! 🎂 What a lovely way to spend the day surrounded by friends, laughter and a few sweet treats.

At Absolute Care and Social Support, we love seeing our participants out in the community doing the things they enjoy.

One of our clients has been having a fantastic time attending his fortnightly tennis lessons, supported by our dedicated support workers. These sessions are not just about improving skills on the court – they help build confidence, independence, and social connection within the community.

Supporting people to get out, stay active and enjoy their interests is what community participation is all about. We are so proud to see the smiles and progress each week! 👏

Our Centre-based group enjoyed the final days of summer with sunshine and a BBQ.

Being involved in deciding what to cook and prepare is a valuable capacity-building activity. Participants discussed different food options, how to prepare the dishes, and explored healthy choices versus less healthy ones. These conversations are a great way to encourage engagement, build knowledge, and support decision-making skills.

The best part, of course, is enjoying the delicious food together at the end. Sometimes participants get to try new foods they may not usually experience, especially as individual diets are not always as varied as others. It’s a wonderful opportunity to expand tastes, build confidence, and share a positive social experience.

Our staff also genuinely enjoy these activities. Seeing participants learn new skills, build confidence, and continue growing makes these shared experiences even more rewarding for everyone involved.
