✨Library Update✨
We are still filled to the brim in our adult section and are not accepting any donations unless you’re swapping.

However, downstairs is another story. I’ve had a younger reader ask if we have any novels for upper primary to younger high school students.

We are absolutely bare. If you have any good quality novels for our older kids, I’d appreciate it. Our older kids are some of our most frequent visitors and I’d love to cater for them

✨New to the library ✨

We have a lot of novels in the library at the moment. With school holidays approaching, it would be great to have a few more kids books there.

Please only one or two, we tend to go from one extreme to another 😂

If you know anyone who is pregnant, there’s a fantastic book in the library that is a great read.

I’m also curious as to what people enjoy reading? Drop a comment & it might help others with their donations.

Our Community Street Library is one small way we can offer something meaningful — a free, accessible space where anyone can take a book, share a book, and enjoy the simple joy of reading.

We were incredibly fortunate to work with the wonderful Ciara Bastow from the Daily Liberal, who recently featured the work we’re doing within our community. It’s truly a privilege to know that something as small as a book can brighten someone’s day.

On behalf of the entire Carlton House team, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has stopped by — whether you’ve taken a book, donated one, or simply admired the library. Your support means so much.
