🔬🪲 National Science Week is off to a HUGE start! 🐍🌿

We’ve spent the weekend meeting and chatting with hundreds of people about the incredible world of wildlife — and we’re only just getting started! 🤩

Our next National Science Week event is happening this Thursday at Yass Library 📚🔬, where we’ll be diving into the fascinating world of invertebrates! 🕷️🐜🪲

🦖 DINOSAURS HAVE TAKEN OVER WILD AT HEART! 🦕

Today we wrapped up Week 3 of Wild At Heart Kids Nature Club with a prehistoric adventure! 🌿🔎

Our little explorers met some very dinosaur-like creatures, including our 🦎 Blue-tongued Lizards, 🪱 Giant Millipedes and ❤️ Red Velvet Mites! They also got stuck into some seriously prehistoric activities, including digging up dinosaur fossils 🦴, hatching dinosaur eggs 🥚🦖 and making their very own fossils to take home! 🎨

✈️ Next week is FLIGHT WEEK! 🦜

We’ll be discovering the incredible animals that can fly through immersive activities, experiments and, of course, meeting one of our very own feathered friends! 🦜💨

🦎🎉 HAPPY WORLD LIZARD DAY!!! 🎉🦎

Today we’re celebrating some of the coolest creatures on the planet! 🌏💚 With over 6,000 species of lizards found across every continent except Antarctica 🇦🇶, these incredible reptiles come in all shapes, sizes and colours!

And lizards aren’t just cool-looking… they’re evolutionary superstars! 🤯 From regrowing lost tails 🦎✨ and changing colour 🌈 to running across water 💦, they have some seriously impressive tricks!

Here at Wildlife Reimagined, we’re lucky enough to care for 4 amazing species of Australian lizards 🇦🇺:
🦎 Cunningham Skinks
🐉 Central Bearded Dragons
💙 Eastern Blue-tongued Lizards
🍃 Rough-throated Leaf-tailed Geckos

We LOVE showing people just how awesome lizards are 😎 — and why they’re so important for our ecosystems, from pest control 🐜 to helping keep food webs and ecosystems in balance 🌿.

Last Tuesday, we had one of those very special, out-of-the-box bookings 🐍🦜🦎✨

We were incredibly honoured to be invited by Wildlife Health Australia to be part of their breakfast event at Parliament House 🏛️🇦🇺, showcasing the many benefits of the One Health approach 🌏🔬.

We had the amazing opportunity to introduce some of our incredible wildlife to Federal Ministers, leading scientists and academics 🧑‍🔬👩‍⚕️ — connecting them with some of Australia’s unique and endangered species 🐾💚.

It’s not every day our animals get to visit Parliament House! 😍🐍🏛️

We’re so grateful to Wildlife Health Australia for inviting us along and helping shine a spotlight on the important connection between people, animals and the environment 🌱🦘❤️.

🦔 Echidna – Breeding season is here! 💕 They’re more active, and if you’re lucky, you might even witness an echidna train! 🚂

❤️ Flame Robin – These stunning little birds migrate down from the Snowy Mountains each winter, making August a fantastic time to see them. 🐦
