On Tuesday night, approximately 19:40, we responded to a house fire on the outskirts of town.
On arrival the property was totally engulfed by fire.
Our crew commenced defensive fire fighting operations with breathing apparatus.
Many thanks to RFS crews for their assistance and for water supply.
Unfortunately the property was completely destroyed however luckily all the occupants made it out safely.
Another thanks to Station Fire + Rescue 270 Cowra for the move up to our station. πŸš’ πŸ”₯

Congratulations Steve. πŸš‘

Your dedication, courage, and compassion over five decades has made a lasting impact.
In moments of crisis, you have been a calm presence, a skilled professional, and a source of hope when it was needed most.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment.
We are very lucky to have worked alongside you and be guided by you in times of need. You have made a difference in more ways than can ever be counted.

πŸš‘β€οΈ AMBO RETIRES AFTER 50 YEARS β€οΈπŸš‘

Today we farewelled a true legend of our emergency services family! β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή Steve Pollard today retired from Young Ambulance Station after 50 incredible years of service to the NSW Ambulance, many of them spent here in Hilltops!

Today's turnout really says it all... in a room filled with family, colleagues, and emergency services personnel from across the region, it was clear just how loved and respected Steve truly is!

Fifty years of care, professionalism and showing up in the hardest moments - Steve has saved countless lives, supported countless families, and mentored generations of paramedics along the way.

Over the past eight and a half years, I’ve personally leaned on Steve’s advice and guidance more than once. His steady counsel has helped shape better outcomes for our station and for paramedics across the electorate. That kind of wisdom is rare and deeply valued. You will be missed more than words can say, but your legacy in Young and across the service is enduring.

Thank you for everything! What a career... What a contribution. Sx πŸ’•

Station 513 is currently seeking donations of unwanted, non-operational, or run-down vehicles.

These vehicles play a vital role in our ongoing training program. They allow our members to conduct realistic rescue and vehicle extrication exercises, ensuring our skills remain current and effective. This practical training is essential to maintaining a high level of operational readiness and enables us to respond swiftly and safely when emergencies occur within our community.

If you have a vehicle you wish to dispose of and would consider donating it for training purposes, please contact us via private message.

We appreciate your support.

Kind regards, Station 513 πŸš’

On Monday afternoon 513 responded to reports of a house fire.
On arrival we found a 3 bay shed alight with thick black smoke issuing. Crews in BA with a 38mm hose cut their way in through a roller door. After extinguishing the fire we found a bank of lithium ion batteries from a solar system in the far corner of the shed.
Crews in BA cooled the batteries while waiting for hazmat bins. The bank of batteries were carefully dismantled and placed in the large hazmat bins full of water. Also destroyed in the fire was a ride on lawnmower, side by side and quad bikes.
Many thanks to RFS crews and RV 389 Harden. πŸš’
