✨ Buddy Reading in Action! πŸ“š

Today, our 5/6B students visited the K–2 classrooms to support their buddies during their literacy block.

It was wonderful to see our senior students demonstrating leadership, patience and encouragement as they worked alongside their younger peers.

K-2 enjoyed learning with their older buddies, while our 5/6B students were fantastic role models, helping to build confidence and build a love of learning. πŸ“šβœ¨

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and fun as students enjoyed playing with friends and staying active despite the yucky weather.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

To recognise this important week, 1/2M created beautiful artworks inspired by Uluru. The students explored the rich colours and significance of this iconic Australian landmark while reflecting on the importance of respect, understanding and connection. β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

πŸ“šβœ¨ Today at YNPS we participated in National Simultaneous Storytime, the annual event that celebrates the joy of reading and promotes literacy across the country.

Each year, a specially chosen picture book by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, early learning centres and homes across Australia.

This year’s featured book was 'Luna Roo' by Adam Jacks and Adrian Beck, beautifully illustrated by Heath McKenzie. πŸ¦˜πŸ“–

Our students loved joining in and sharing this special reading experience together. What a wonderful way to inspire imagination and build a love of reading! πŸ’›
