📣📣 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤!!

The devastating flash floods in Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers in Nepal on 26 August 2026, have caused the tragic loss of hundreds of lives with many people injured and missing, along with the destruction of properties including vital infrastructure of the country. The search and rescue operations are underway in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Chitwan to locate and rescue those still missing and to provide immediate assistance and support to those affected by the disaster.

Rt. Hon. President Ramchandra Paudel has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

In his message, the Rt. Hon. President wished the newly elected President success in his new responsibilities and reaffirmed Nepal's commitment to further strengthening the long-standing friendly ties between Nepal and Bangladesh, including the deep-rooted people-to-people connections that bind the two nations together.

Ambassador Mr. Ghanashyam Bhandari delivered a lecture on 'Evolution of Nepal's Foreign Policy and Perspectives on Nepal-Bangladesh Relations' to the participants of the 32nd Specialized Diplomatic Training Course (SDTC) and 4th Professional Master's in International Relations and Diplomacy (PMIRD) programme at the Foreign Service Academy, in Dhaka this afternoon.

In his lecture, the Ambassador outlined the evolution of Nepal’s foreign policy and its current diplomatic engagements. He also highlighted various aspects of Nepal-Bangladesh relationship, characterised by the spirit of good neighborliness, growing economic partnership, and excellent people-to-people ties.

The lecture was followed by an interactive Q&A session, during which the Ambassador responded to questions from the participants.

Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Pratik Karki joined the Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives of Bangladesh H.E. Mr. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, MP in inaugurating an 'Eye Camp' organized jointly by Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh and Thakurgaon Diabetic Samity in Thakurgaon, this morning.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour, Mr. Karki commended the initiative for its contribution to advancing medical tourism in Nepal and strengthening the longstanding people-to-people ties between Nepal and Bangladesh.

The Eye Camp is providing comprehensive eye checkups and cataract surgeries to patients in Thakurgaon. A 13-member team of Nepali professionals, including ophthalmologists, senior eye health workers from Biratnagar Eye Hospital and Lahan Eye Hospital, and representatives of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, is currently in Bangladesh for the programme.

Around 3,000 Bangladeshi nationals are expected to benefit from the Eye Camp.
