What will it take for more women-led businesses in Bangladesh to grow, attract investment and reach international markets?
We explored this question at the Danish Residence, bringing together an inspiring group of women entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem leaders for a candid conversation with Line Bejtrup Boss of the Bestseller Foundation.
Opening the evening, Anders B. Karlsen, Chargรฉ dโAffaires a.i., noted that while talent is equally distributed, opportunity is not, and called for stronger access to capital, networks and markets to help women-led businesses grow.
Bangladesh is at an important point in its economic development. With a growing consumer market and strong entrepreneurial momentum, the potential is significant. Yet women entrepreneurs continue to face challenges in accessing growth capital, international markets and global value chains.
The Bestseller Foundationโs focus on impact investment, market access and job creation therefore connects well with the opportunities and needs we see in Bangladesh.
The evening was first and foremost about listening to what is working? Where are the barriers? And where can international partners and Bangladeshโs entrepreneurial ecosystem come together to create real opportunities?
Bringing together foundations, entrepreneurs and international partners can help turn these conversations into concrete partnerships, investment and sustainable growth - particularly as Bangladesh prepares for its next chapter beyond LDC status.
