We are the LIFE Programme, the EU's instrument for protecting the environment & the climate. It was born on 21 May 1992.

The European Union's LIFE programme is the only EU programme fully dedicated to environmental and climate objectives. We have funded more than 6,000 projects to date.

What to look for

✔️ the total price and what it includes
✔️ the date payment is due
✔️ the contract type and its duration
✔️ the price you are paying - the actual amount you pay, shown on your bill
✔️ where to go if something does not look right

Knowing what to check can make your everyday decisions a lot easier. Your first energy bill should not feel like a test.

What happens when repair becomes easier than disposal? ♻️

Turn to e-circular, winner of for and Quality of Life🏆, helped change the way people think about electronic devices in Slovenia!

They encouraged consumers to repair, reuse and extend product lifespans instead of throwing them away.

Through reuse corners, repair cafés, educational activities and a mobile repair van, the project made circular solutions accessible across the country.

Its results included:

✅ 247 tonnes of electrical and electronic equipment saved from disposal
✅ 1,835 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions avoided
✅ 53 repair workshops and 13 repair cafés established

Last week, Danube floodplains won the for Nature & Biodiversity. 🥇

Over nine years, the project worked to restore floodplain habitats along the Danube in Slovakia and Hungary that had been altered by centuries of river regulation and intensive land use.

Results:
💧 9.5 km of river branches restored
🌿 1,805 hectares of floodplains with improved water management
🦆 12 wetlands revived
🌳 More than 64,000 trees planted and cultivated

LIFE Danube floodplains shows how restoring natural river processes can strengthen biodiversity, improve ecosystem resilience and deliver lasting benefits for people and nature.

The project's innovative approach to biodiversity monitoring and nature-based solutions was what set them apart from the competition.

Five days of communities, creators and changemakers coming together to celebrate creativity, explore innovative ideas and shape a more inclusive and sustainable future.🪷
