Ongoing landslides on the Darjegang–Deling Marbjee farm road in Phuentsholing Gewog threaten to completely cut off access for local communities.
To address this, we have initiated a bypass from Kabreytar. However, because the terrain remains unstable, please expect frequent blockages and travel disruptions during the heavy monsoon season. Permanent stabilization work will begin as soon as the emergency ad hoc budget request is sanctioned.

We have recently visited the banks of the Amochu River (above Zone 😎 to assess current flood risks and identify necessary mitigation works. It was learnt that the Department of Geology and Mines (DGM) has already allocated dredging sites to eight firms, under the strict condition that they construct resilient barriers along their respective stretches. We emphasized the importance of these barriers and the clearing of waterways to prevent overflow, as mandated by the DGM.We are hopeful that these measures are robust enough to prevent a recurrence of last year’s devastating floods.

To enhance the safety of devotees, we are initiating the installation of safety railings along the steep sections of the path leading from the base to Tumdra Ney. (jayantey Makaal dham). Our improvement plan includes constructing a concrete staircase to replace the existing trail and widening the route where possible to ensure a more secure and accessible journey

On March 20, 2026, a delegation led by the Director of the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) and Bhutanese officials visited the proposed sites for an Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Gowabari (India) and near workshop area on Bhutanese side. The construction of the ICP is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion along the Jaigaon–Manglabari route, addressing a major concern for the residents of Jaigaon and Phuentsholing.
