His Holiness the Je Khenpo has granted a Kasho to the Laytshog Lopen, directing him to continue serving in the position.
The Laytshog Lopen had recently submitted a formal request seeking resignation from the post.
The following is a provisional translation of the official kasho issued by His Holiness the Je Khenpo to the Laytshog Lopen.
To Sangay Dorji, Laytshog Lopen of the Central Monastic Body,
With regard to your recent formal request seeking resignation from your position, while there is no objection in principle to granting such a request, it is important to acknowledge your unwavering dedication and exemplary service rendered thus far toward the advancement of the Buddha-Dharma, as well as your tireless efforts in securing resources, facilities, and solutions for the benefit of the Central Monastic Body.
Furthermore, in accordance with the noble vision of His Majesty the King, the Central Monastic Body has been entrusted with the sacred responsibility and blessed with the auspicious opportunity to establish Namgyal Choedzong (The Victorious Dharma Fortress) at the heart of Gelephu Mindfulness City. This unique institution, integrating both the spiritual and temporal traditions, is envisioned as a lasting memorial and an auspicious symbol of Shambhala.
As this undertaking is of immense significance and far-reaching benefit, it is deemed both appropriate and highly beneficial that you continue to provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to this sacred project in your capacity as Laytshog Lopen.
Therefore, for the time being, you are respectfully requested to remain in your present position and continue discharging your responsibilities accordingly, for the successful realization of this noble endeavor.
This letter is hereby issued by His Holiness the Je Khenpo from Tashichho Dzong on the 15th day of Saga Dawa, the fourth auspicious month of the lunar calendar, in the Male Fire-Horse Year corresponding to 2026.
