🔥🚒International Firefighters’ Day | May 4 🔥🚒

Today we recognize International Firefighters’ Day - a time to honour the dedication, resilience, and teamwork of firefighters in Banff and around the world.

In a place like ours, that work carries special meaning. We’re proud to work alongside our wildland crews in Banff National Park. Together, we work every day to protect our community, our visitors, and the landscape that we all care deeply about.

Thank you to all firefighters - past, present, and those just starting their journey. Thank you for your commitment, professionalism, dedication, skill, and the sacrifices you make in service to others.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Glen Jackson, who died peacefully on December 28.

Glen proudly served with the Banff Fire Department for 40 years. He was a leader, mentor, and friend to generations of firefighters, and he deeply loved his BFD family. Glen was immensely proud to be a Banff firefighter and shared that pride into retirement and wherever he went.

We honour Glen’s legacy of service, pride, and camaraderie. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

🐾🚒A special farewell to our little friend, Miso! 🐾🚒

This sweet foster pup has been keeping spirits high at the station, and today we sent him off with his very own Firefighter epaulette as he heads to his furever home. We'll miss those floppy ears and big heart.

Wishing Miso all the love (and treats) in his new adventure! ✨

🔥 Training in Action! 🔥

Last week, Banff Firefighters took part in a live structure fire scenario...testing fire attack, search, and Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) techniques. These hands-on sessions help our crews stay sharp, coordinated, and ready to respond.

A huge thank you to the local contractors who generously donated the use of the house before demolition...your support helps make realistic training like this possible!
