Nova Scotia is investing in the next generation of fire service leaders.

Today, we launched the Nova Scotia Fire Service Leadership Certificate Program, a new partnership with Dalhousie University that will help current and future fire service leaders build the skills they need to lead teams, manage emergencies and serve their communities.

The program will help build leadership capacity across the province's fire service and support safer, stronger and more resilient communities.

Applications are now open, with the first group of participants beginning in January 2027.

The Mooseland Road Wildfire in Halifax County has been officially declared Extinguished. This follows extensive ground and aerial monitoring by Natural Resources staff and the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Centre.
