I’ve been a firefighter for many years, and time and time again, it reminds me just how powerful a community can be when it comes together in moments of need. There is nothing more meaningful than seeing people step up to ensure the safety of others and to support those who need help the most.
Last night, when the tornado touched down in the Village of Girouxville, we witnessed exactly that. Neighbours helping neighbours, friends, families, and even strangers coming together without hesitation—offering support, lending a hand, and looking out for one another. It’s in moments like these that true character and compassion shine through.
I want to personally thank each and every one of you who stepped up to help. Your efforts, your kindness, and your willingness to support others did not go unnoticed. It was deeply needed and profoundly appreciated.
This is what community is all about.
