2026 Municipal Election - Acclamation

The certification process is now complete and the successful candidates have been officially declared elected by acclamation.

As a result, no voting will be required in Dorion for the 2026 Municipal Election.

The Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) previously in place for the Northwest Region and a small portion of the Northeast Region will be revoked, effective Thursday, August 20 at 12:01 a.m. local time.
The Ministry of Natural Resources would like to thank Ontarians and visitors for doing their part to help prevent wildland fires and keep communities safe. Please continue to use extreme caution and follow Ontario’s Outdoor Fires Regulations when having an outdoor fire - ontario.ca/outdoorfirerules

The province will continue to assess wildland fire hazard conditions, and an RFZ designation may be reinstated in higher risk areas if the fire hazard and fire activity warrants it.

To coincide with the ending of the RFZ, the Township of Dorion will be revoking the Total Burn Ban previously in place, effective Thursday, August 20 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.

The Dorion Volunteer Fire Department has been selected as one of 17 Ontario fire departments to receive a generous donation of 42 Kidde DETECT smoke alarms, allowing them to place critical fire safety tools directly into the homes of some of our most vulnerable. In addition, the fire department will be holding random draws for the DETECT smoke alarms at the upcoming Enbridge community dinner, to be held on October 9th, 2025.
