Grade 12s it is time to think about applying for Fall of 2027 programs. Below is some information from U of S (but most universities have similar programs/deadlines) as to why it is beneficial to apply to Universities before Dec 1
Top two reasons to apply by December 1
While many students have solid plans for next year, others are still exploring their options and considering what their future could look like.
For students who know university is a part of their plan, or are still deciding, applying early has its advantages. Here are two important reasons to apply to USask by December 1:
1. Early admission
Several USask programs with competitive ranking-based admission offer early admission based on a minimum average. These programs include:
Education
Kinesiology
Kinesiology/Education Combined Program
Engineering
Applying early can provide students with greater certainty about their post-secondary plans and allow them to focus on preparing for a successful transition to university.
2. Scholarships
Applying by December 1 also ensures students are considered for valuable scholarship opportunities.
To be eligible, students must apply for admission and submit all required documents by December 1 for:
USask Entrance Scholarships (600 awards valued at $5,000 each)
USask's prestigious, renewable Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships and Circle of Honour awards (valued from $24,000–$40,000; scholarship applications due December 15)
