Learn More About Fortune Minerals’ Proposed Hydrometallurgical Facility

Fortune Minerals Ltd. is hosting two open houses to share information about its proposed hydrometallurgical facility in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland, within Lamont County.

The proposed facility would process mineral concentrates from Fortune Minerals’ planned NICO Mine in the Northwest Territories and produce critical minerals including cobalt, bismuth, copper and gold.

The project would require approval under Alberta's Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA). Fortune Minerals anticipates submitting its EPEA approval application in the fourth quarter of 2026. Once approved, the Hydrometallurgical Facility would be located within the Heartland Heavy Industrial Zoning area.

Residents are encouraged to attend an upcoming open house to learn more and ask questions:
