The Patch Brewery, in working with the Maple Ridge Fire Rescue Honour Guard, have designed a special b**r of remembrance: the “Last Alarm B**r.”

The Last Alarm B**r will be available at both The Patch Brewery and The Maple Ridge Legion from October 10th to November 10th. $1 from every pint sold will be donated by The Patch Brewery to the Maple Ridge Legion’s Annual Poppy Campaign in support of veterans and other charitable causes within the community.

The “Last Alarm B**r” not only remembers and honours veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today, but also remembers the firefighters who gave all in the line of duty and the bell that tolls upon their passing. We remember them all so that they may never be forgotten.

Over the past four years, Mayor Dan Ruimy and members of Council have made significant investments in public safety, staffing and the future of the Maple Ridge Fire Department.
We endorse Dan Ruimy for Mayor, along with returning councillors Korleen Carreras and Judy Dueck.
We also endorse the other candidates running as part of the A Better Maple Ridge team: Bob D’Eith, Dr. Bhupinder Johar and Leanne Koehn.
We appreciate the work that has been done and the relationships that have been built, and we look forward to continuing that progress.

We always appreciate the opportunity to welcome members of our community to Hall 4 for a fun afternoon!

We’re also grateful to everyone who supported the Maple Ridge Firefighters Charitable Society through our hot dog BBQ!

At approximately 6:30am this morning, Maple Ridge Fire Rescue crews responded to a residential structure fire.

Crews arrived on scene to heavy fire conditions and began defensive operations, focusing on containing the fire and protecting neighbouring homes.

One person was found deceased inside the residence. Our thoughts are with their family, friends and everyone affected by this loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.

The massed pipes and drums from across North America practise for tomorrow’s ceremony in Colorado Springs where 288 fallen firefighters will be honoured.

Join us for Maple Ridge Fire Rescue’s second annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday, October 3 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at Fire Hall 4!

Spend the afternoon with our members, explore the fire hall and apparatus, watch live demonstrations, and take part in interactive fire safety activities for all ages.

A BBQ will also be available by donation, with proceeds supporting the Maple Ridge Firefighters Charitable Society.

We’re looking forward to welcoming the community back to Hall 4 for a fun filled afternoon!
