Throughout the summer, Maple Ridge firefighters made several trips to Camp Goodtimes, volunteering their time alongside Mission Fire Rescue and camp counsellors to taking part in one of the camp’s favourite traditions, a water fight with the kids.

Camp Goodtimes provides camp experiences for children and teens affected by cancer, along with their siblings and families, giving them a chance to have fun, build friendships and simply enjoy being kids.

Since 7:00am yesterday morning, Maple Ridge Fire Fighters have responded to over 30 calls across the city, including two commercial structure fires 🔥

With crews continuously responding to calls across the city, here are a few things to keep in mind:

If an emergency vehicle is approaching with lights and sirens, please pull over and give it room to pass safely. When passing an active scene, slow down and give emergency vehicles and crews plenty of space.

Never drive over fire hose. Even if it looks flat or unused, it may still be supplying water or could be needed at any moment. Driving over it can damage the hose, interrupt water supply and create a serious safety issue. It is also a ticketable offence.

Please respect road closures and traffic control. We plan and coordinate our water supply to reduce traffic impacts as much as possible, but depending on hydrant and incident locations, road closures are sometimes unavoidable.

Thank you to our community for your patience and cooperation around active scenes.

After a busy month of wildfire deployments, our latest crew is heading home from Summerland today.

Since mid-July, Maple Ridge firefighters have assisted with wildfire response in communities across British Columbia, with deployments taking members to Pemberton, Clinton, Boston Bar, Summerland and other areas of the province. At the same time, crews here at home have continued serving Maple Ridge through a busy summer in our own community.

With this deployment wrapping up, all of our crews are currently back home. We’ll continue to stay in contact with BC Wildfire Service and remain ready to assist again if needs across the province change.

Hot Summer Nights 2026 💦🚒
We had over 1500 people join us last night! This event is one of our favourite ways to give back to Maple Ridge, spend time with local families and bring everyone together for a fun summer evening!
Many of our members volunteered their time to make Hot Summer Nights happen, while our on-duty crews stayed busy responding to calls around the City.
Thank you for joining us, we hope you enjoy the rest your summer!

Danika and Sienna spent this past weekend at Camp Ignite, getting an incredible firsthand look at the many different skills and challenges that come with a career in the fire service.

Proudly sponsored by Maple Ridge Fire Rescue, they took part in a wide range of hands-on training, including auto extrication, hose operations, first aid, technical rescue, fire extinguishers, forcible entry and car fire.... just to name a few!

One of our own members was also there throughout the weekend, helping instruct and mentor participants along the way.

A huge thank you to Burnaby Fire Department, Vancouver Fire Rescue Services and the Justice Institute of British Columbia for helping make Camp Ignite such a valuable experience.

We’re proud to support opportunities like this and even more proud of Danika and Sienna for representing Maple Ridge Fire Rescue so well!

Wildland Update #4

Another crew switch is underway as Maple Ridge Fire Rescue members continue to support wildfire operations across the province. Our returning members made their way home last night, with a fresh crew stepping in to continue the work.

We also want to recognize Deputy Chief Bryan Vinje, who recently returned from a deployment in the Boston Bar area, where he served as a Task Force Leader. Deputy Chief Vinje brings an incredible amount of knowledge, experience and leadership to everything he does, and we are extremely proud to see those skills put to use while supporting wildfire operations across the province. He continues to be a tremendous resource and leader within Maple Ridge Fire Rescue, and we are proud to have him representing our department beyond our community.

Even while members are deployed across the province, our commitment to Maple Ridge does not change. Our crews at home continue to be busy responding to emergencies, protecting our community and ensuring Maple Ridge remains fully supported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are incredibly proud of the members serving both here at home and across British Columbia.

Wildland Update #3

Happy BC Day!

While many in our community are enjoying time with family and friends, our members continue to answer the call beyond our community.

Today, our crew supporting wildfire operations in the Clinton area completed another crew switch-up, ensuring continued support for communities impacted by wildfire. We are proud of the commitment and dedication our members have shown while away from home, working alongside other agencies and crews from across the province.

Back home, A Platoon is on duty today and throughout the night, continuing to provide emergency response and protect our community 24/7.

We want to thank our community for the incredible support and appreciation shown to our members. Your messages, encouragement, and understanding mean a great deal to our crews and their families.

From our family to yours, we wish everyone a safe and happy BC Day. While you enjoy today, know that our members remain ready to serve whenever they are needed.
