🌱 WOW. Just… WOW. 🌱

Our 11th Annual Paddockwood Library Plant Sale Fundraiser is officially in the books, and we are absolutely blown away.

Despite the postponements, the road detours, the spring runoff, the endless weather watching, and Mother Nature keeping us all guessing right until the bitter end… you showed up. And not just a few of you.

Approximately 275 amazing people came through our doors over the two days.
That kind of support for a small rural library is nothing short of extraordinary.

Because of this incredible community — our donors, volunteers, bakers, plant growers, shoppers, bidders, raffle ticket buyers, coffee drinkers, neighbours near and far — we raised an astounding $8,400.00.

Let that sink in for a moment.

That funding covers the purchase of our library hours for the entire year, our materials budget, and helps support programming in our little library.

That means books on the shelves. Programs for families, kids and seniors. Community connection. Learning. Creativity. A thriving rural gathering place.

This event has always been about far more than plants.

It’s about community.

It’s about people who believe small rural libraries matter.

It’s about folks who will brave washouts, scenic detours, muddy spring roads, and Saskatchewan’s wildly confused weather patterns because they care.

And speaking of community — please remember to support local whenever you can. The local businesses, local crafters, local artists, growers, makers, and creators are what make events like ours so incredibly special. Their generosity, talent, and community spirit are what take this fundraiser from wonderful to truly extraordinary.

Please take a moment to show some love to the incredible contributors who helped make this event possible, listed below. 👇

And now that Mother Nature has finally accepted that yes, in fact, it IS spring… we can all go plant things. 🌞🌸🌱

If you missed out on a plant you had your eye on (or suddenly realize you definitely need more plants — no judgment here), our remaining plants have headed to another wonderful cause!

Be sure to check out the Prince Albert SPCA’s annual plant sale fundraiser this weekend and help support another fantastic organization. 🌿🐾

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.

For showing up.
For supporting us.
For believing in this little library.
For helping us make our 11th annual plant sale fundraiser incredible.

We are beyond grateful. 💚

That’s a wrap! 🌱💚

A heartfelt thank you to everyone—near and far—who travelled to support our plant sale fundraiser. Thank you for your patience through the postponements, the flood conditions, and all the uncertainty leading up to the event. Your support means the world to our little library.

To everyone who came out, shopped plants, enjoyed treats, visited with friends, bought raffle tickets, bid in the silent auction, donated, volunteered, and helped spread the word—thank you. This event truly is a community effort in every sense of the word, and we are so grateful for the incredible support from our broad rural community and beyond.

Congratulations to our raffle winners! 🎉
🍃 Fiza Patel — winner of the Milwaukee leaf blower kit
🪑 Dee Dee Hopley — winner of the beautiful rocker bench

We had a fantastic event, and it’s all because of the generosity, patience, and community spirit of people like you. Thank you for helping keep our little library thriving. 💚📚

And for anyone still dreaming about “the one that got away” on the plant tables… 🌿😉 our remaining plants are heading to the SPCA plant sale fundraiser this weekend! So if there was something you missed, you may just get a second chance while supporting another wonderful cause.

Until next year… hopefully with a little less flood drama and a little less detour navigation 😅💚

🌱 FINAL DAY! 🌱

Well… somehow there are still plants left, and today is your LAST chance to come scoop them up!

Yesterday was such a great day — thank you to everyone who came out, bought plants, had coffee, grabbed baking, visited with neighbours, bought raffle tickets, and helped support our little library. These events really are all about community, and yesterday was exactly that. 💚

We’ve still got plenty on the tables today, so if you came yesterday and have regrets about leaving that one plant behind… now’s your chance before someone else adopts it 🌿

☕ Coffee’s on
🧁 Fresh baking will be making its appearance
🌸 Plants still need homes
🎟️ Raffle tickets still up for grabs

And don’t forget — today is the FINAL day for the silent auction!

We’ll post updated bid tallies online at 5 PM, and then it’s the last hour scramble until bidding closes at 6 PM. If you’ve been quietly stalking an auction item… today’s your moment!

🚗 Road update!
Good news for our east-side friends — Range Road 2250 is now open.

Best routes:
➡️ From Northside / west / north: the Paddockwood Highway is your best route
➡️ From Meath Park / Candle Lake / east: take Baseline Road (Twp 530 / Christopher Lake cut across), turn south onto RR 2250 at the first STOP sign, then west onto the #791-(Paddockwood grid) into the Village.

Come spend the day with us — even if it’s just for coffee, a visit, and “just one plant” (we all know how that goes 😏)
Plus, you’ll get to enter your name into the door prizes once again!

🌺🐓🐷 Okay, the level of talent in this community never stops amazing us.

A huge thank you to new contributor Rozalind Sorensen for creating this absolutely epic crocheted Moana, Heihei, and Pua doll set! 😍✨

The detail in this creation is incredible—from Moana’s outfit and flowers to the hilariously perfect expression on Heihei (seriously 😂) and sweet little Pua. This is one of those pieces that makes you stop and stare… and honestly, kind of makes me want to go watch the movie right now. 🌊🌴🎶

While Rozalind may be a first-time donor to our event, support for the library clearly runs in the family. Her dad Elwin serves on our library board, and her mom Ursula is one of those amazing behind-the-scenes volunteers who helps every year—bringing her time, a ton of beautiful plants, and a wealth of gardening knowledge to our event. 🌱💚

We are so incredibly grateful for families like this who believe in what our little rural library brings to the community and who jump in with both hands (and clearly some very talented crochet hooks 🧶😉).

Thank you, Rozalind, for sharing your amazing creativity with us—we know this one is going to make someone very happy! 💛

🪴✨ Remember that incredible bat house Horst Schulz of Albertville Construction donated last week? Well… he hinted there might be another surprise coming, and as always, Horst did not disappoint.

This time, he’s brought us two beautifully handcrafted wooden patio planters—approximately 14x14” and 8 inches deep—and they are absolutely gorgeous. Even better? These aren’t just pretty… Horst lined them with galvanized tin for water resistance, which is craftsmanship that truly goes above and beyond. 🪚

Horst is one of those wonderful supporters who shows up for our library fundraiser year after year, always with something thoughtful and beautifully made. And the generosity doesn’t stop there—his wife Aline, along with her sister Paula, also help fill our sale tables with their incredible tomato plants each year! 🍅🌱

It takes a community full of people like this to make our annual fundraiser what it is, and we truly cannot thank them enough.

Thank you, Horst, for once again sharing your talent and generosity with our little library. 💚

🫧🎉 If this doesn’t make your inner child absolutely lose it, I don’t know what will… because THIS is the kind of donation that makes it very hard to stay focused on fundraising duties! 😆🫧

A huge thank you to Candice Hoover from Forest Fringe Fairways for this absolutely PERFECT donation to our fundraiser—a Gazillion Bubble Machine, a giant bottle of bubbles, and two bubble blaster guns! 🫧💨

Honestly… I kind of want to take this whole setup home just to play with myself. 😂

Candice continues to support our event year after year, and we appreciate her generosity so much. Donations like this bring such a fun, playful touch to our fundraiser and are sure to make some lucky family very happy! 💚

Be sure to check out Forest Fringe Fairways for updates on their spring opening and hours—another great local spot bringing fun to our community! ⛳🌲

Thank you again, Candice, for once again helping make our event extra special! ✨
