Hello Friends? Just sitting here bright and early at 7am on a Sunday continuing to prepare for the Canada Day Market- got me thinking about shopping local. I am always so so grateful when you do because you're choosing more than a product.
You're supporting someone who spends hours researching suppliers, sourcing quality materials, designing, creating, packaging, photographing, marketing, answering messages, and getting things ready for pick up or shipping orders.
Many people compare our prices to big box stores or online retailers. The difference is simple, we don't have factories, warehouses, or thousands of products rolling off an assembly line. Every item is made, packed, and prepared by real hands, often from a kitchen table, spare bedroom, or home workshop.
That "little bit extra" you pay isn't just for the product.
It's for the time.
It's for the craftsmanship. Even when it’s something easy.
It's for the fuel to pick up supplies.
It's for the care put into every order.
It's for supporting a dream and ambition instead of a corporation.
💫 It’s also getting ME, my personal attention. When you have a vision and allow me to pick that apart through direct access to speaking with me over several conversations and you walk away happy- isn’t that a special feeling? Or, if something isn’t quite right- I get to fix it right away! I think that’s pretty amazing. I love shopping local.
When you shop local, your money stays in your community. It helps families pay bills, puts food on tables, and allows small businesses to continue creating something they truly love and that you will love to.
So before clicking "Add to Cart" on a big-name website, take a moment to see if someone in your community offers what you're looking for.
Your purchase may seem small to you, but to a local maker or creative, it means everything.
❤️ Support local.
🤍 Support a maker or creative
🌿 Support ambitions.
So thank you all, seriously, thank you for shopping with me! Even when I think it’s to quiet and panic sets in, I realize that it’s temporary and that’s okay! Without you there wouldn’t be a me- cheers! Happy Sunday!
