Forecasts are for 40km/hr winds with gusts up to 80km/hr today and through Saturday.
Strong winds can cause downed trees and power lines.
What can you do to Stay safe?
❗️Stay clear of downed lines, report to appropriate department.
❗️Keep batteries in flashlights and phones charged.
❗️Secure any loose items in the yard.
❗️Prepare for possible power outages.

While the turkeys are roasting our volunteers are still on standby. Fire and emergencies don't take a holiday, and neither do we.
Today, we want to give a massive shout-out to the dedicated men and women of Shell-Glen Fire Rescue who are ready to leave their own Thanksgiving dinners at a moment's notice to keep our community safe.
We also want to thank our families, who support us every time the pager goes off during a holiday meal. We appreciate you all!

September 30th is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It’s a time to remember the children who never returned home and to honour Survivors and their families. Reconciliation is rooted in the courage to listen, the humility to acknowledge past and ongoing harms, and an unwavering commitment to upholding the truth while confronting denialism in all forms. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples today and every day, committing ourselves to the essential, ongoing work of truth-telling and meaningful reconciliation.

This weekend we were given the opportunity to join Ferndale Tabor Volunteer Fire Department for some Auto Extrication training. The more training and hands on experience we get, the better we are equipped to help you when you need us! Thank you Ferndale and thank you Simon for instructing!
