❤️ Thank You for Your Support ❤️

On behalf of Salisbury Fire Rescue, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who came out yesterday to support us as we paid tribute to Chief Dave Bannister.

It was a very emotional and challenging day for our members, but we are incredibly honored and grateful for the overwhelming support shown by our community, fellow first responders, and friends.

A special thank you to:

🚒 Petitcodiac Fire Rescue for providing coverage for the Town of Salisbury so our members could attend and be together as a department.

🚒 Riverview Fire & Rescue for bringing your ladder truck and hoisting the Canadian flag for Chief Bannister’s final ride. It was a truly memorable and meaningful gesture.

👮 RCMP for assisting with traffic control and helping ensure everything ran smoothly.

👏 Chris Boulay for your guidance, coaching, and support, helping us represent our department with professionalism and pride.

🎵 Jeremy Quillian for bringing the pipes and leading us out. Nothing leaves a lasting impression quite like the sound of the pipes.

🚒 🚑 To all fire departments, first responders, and supporters who attended, thank you for standing with us and helping us honour a man who dedicated over 40 years of service to our community.

The collective effort, respect, and kindness shown throughout the day helped us give Chief Bannister the tribute he so deeply deserved.

As we continue to support the Bannister family, we are pleased to announce that this week's Salisbury Fire Rescue 50/50 proceeds will be donated to help offset funeral expenses. We thank everyone who participates for helping us support the family during this difficult time. nb5050.ca/7

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your unwavering support.

📸 If you took photos or videos during the service and procession, please tag us or share them with us. We would love to see and preserve those memories.

Sincerely,
Salisbury Fire Rescue

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Retired Salisbury Fire Chief Dave Bannister.

Chief Bannister served our community for over 40 years, including 22 years as Fire Chief. The longest in our department’s history. You could always find him behind the wheel driving Engine 20, or behind the pump providing water for the firefighters.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Helen, his daughters Cindy and Carla.

It was an honour working with you.
