Norfolk County Economic Development Norfolk County Economic Development offers support to new & existing businesses and industries. These towns include Port Dover, Turkey Point and Long Point.

Norfolk County (Population 64,044) - Agriculture, tourism and manufacturing are major employers in Norfolk County. Our farmers supply more fruits and vegetables to Canada’s dinner tables and restaurants than anywhere else in the country. Norfolk County is Canada’s top grower of asparagus, cabbage, cucumber, ginseng, peanuts, peppers, strawberries, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. Norfolk County’s most popular tourist attractions are the ports, towns and villages along Lake Erie, known as Ontario’s South Coast. Fishing is another key attraction for tourists, as well as birding, hiking, camping and cycling. Main festivals include the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show (October), July 1st Celebration in Port Dover, Lynn River Music Festival (August), Port Dover Summer Fest (August), Norfolk Studio Tour (September), Delhi Harvest Fest (September), BayFest in Port Rowan (September), Waterford Pumpkin Festival (October), PD13 (the Port Dover motorcycle enthusiasts’ event every Friday the 13th) and Simcoe Christmas Panorama (December). Agri-tourism is another expanding attraction for tourists coming to Norfolk County, with several wineries and craft breweries. There are numerous farm gate retailers.

Small agri-food businesses can now access funding through the Food Safety and Growth Initiative to support business growth, modernize food safety systems, and adopt new food safety and traceability technologies.

🏆 Norfolk County Economic Development is celebrating national recognition after receiving the Strategic Marketing & Digital Storytelling Award from EDAC for the Down a Norfolk County Road campaign.

Created in partnership with filmmaker Daryl Granger of Rose Le Studio, musician Chris Rait of The Treeline, and supported by Ontario's Southwest Regional Tourism Organization (RTO1), the campaign highlighted the people, businesses, places, and experiences that make Norfolk County unique. This award recognizes the power of authentic storytelling to support tourism, strengthen community pride, and showcase Norfolk County as a great place to live, work, visit, and invest.
