🔥 Firefighter Friday Spotlight 🔥
Meet Firefighter Carlie

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Firefighter Carlie, who joined the Strathroy station in December 2024!

When asked what she enjoys most about being part of the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department, Carlie doesn't hesitate to mention the friendships she's built along the way. She says one of the best parts of the job is knowing that no matter the situation, she can look to either side and see teammates who have her back when she needs it most.

Outside of the fire service, Carlie enjoys staying active through working out, writing, and reading. She also loves spending as much time as possible with her wife, her animals, and her big, beautiful family of 14.

We're proud to have Carlie as part of our SCFD family. Thank you for your dedication, teamwork, and commitment to serving our community!

🚒 YOUR COMMUNITY IS CALLING. 🚒

When your neighbour has a medical emergency. When a family loses power during a storm. When a fire threatens a home. When someone dials 9-1-1 in their worst moment.

Who shows up?

The members of the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department.

We're looking for community-minded people who want to make a difference where they live, work, and raise their families. Volunteer firefighting is more than fighting fires. It's about serving your neighbours, supporting your community, and being there when people need help most.

You don't need previous firefighting experience. We provide the training, equipment, and support. What we're looking for are people with a strong sense of community, a willingness to learn, and a desire to give back.

As a volunteer firefighter, you'll:
🔥 Protect the community you call home
🔥 Develop valuable skills and confidence
🔥 Be part of a dedicated team that feels like family
🔥 Help people through some of life's most challenging moments
🔥 Make a lasting impact in Strathroy-Caradoc

Interested, but not sure if it's for you?

Join us at our Open House and have a conversation with our firefighters. Ask questions, tour the station, see the equipment, and learn what volunteering with SCFD is really all about.

📍 Melbourne Fire Station - 21912 Melbourne Rd
🗓️ Sunday, October 4, 2026
🕐 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

No pressure. No sales pitch. Just a chance to meet the people behind the pager and discover how you can help make a difference in your community.

Because strong communities aren't built by someone else.

They're built by neighbours who step forward.

🔥 Firefighter Friday Spotlight 🔥
Meet Lieutenant Matt

This week we're featuring Lieutenant Matt, who has been serving with the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department out of the Mount Brydges Station since February 2019.

Matt's favourite part of being a firefighter is the unpredictability of the job. Every call is different and presents its own unique challenges, requiring firefighters to think on their feet, adapt, and work together as a team to achieve the best outcome possible.

When he's not responding to emergencies, Matt enjoys working out and spending time with his family. Much of his free time is dedicated to keeping up with his two daughters, who keep him busy and active.

👏 Thank you, Matt, for your dedication and commitment to serving the communities of Strathroy-Caradoc!
