Let’s make Halloween accessible for everyone! 🎃

Every child deserves the chance to enjoy trick-or-treating! The Treat Accessibly initiative encourages households to make small changes to help children with disabilities participate in Halloween.
Display an Accessible Trick or Treating lawn sign to show your home is welcoming to all trick-or-treaters.
Keep pathways clear and consider offering treats in an accessible location.
Be patient, flexible and welcoming. Small actions can make a big difference!

Want to get involved? Learn how to get a free lawn sign and find more accessibility tips here: https://www.treataccessibly.com/treat-accessibly-lawn-signs
Let’s help make Halloween a little more inclusive for everyone!

Over 400,000 children in Canada and 4 million children in the United States identify as having one or more disabilities. Treat Accessibly's mission is to ensure that Halloween is inclusive and accessible for all children.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month!
This October, we’re celebrating the skills, talents and contributions of people with disabilities in workplaces across Windsor and beyond. The 2026 NDEAM theme, “Skills Grow Economies. Disability Inclusion Fuels the Growth,” highlights the importance of recognizing talent, creating opportunities and building inclusive workplaces where people with disabilities can contribute and succeed.

We’re proud to recognize that the Winds City Hall will be illuminated blue and purple on Thursday October 15th in support of Light It Up! For NDEAM. From city halls and office towers to community centres and local landmarks, organizations across the country will illuminate their buildings in purple and blue in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Join hundreds of organizations in demonstrating your commitment to disability-inclusive employment and help shine a light on the skills, talents, and contributions of people who have a disability.
One night. Hundreds of locations. One shared commitment to inclusion.

Creating a more inclusive community doesn’t always require a big change. It can start with how we communicate, how we listen, how we design our spaces, and how we make sure people receive real choices and opportunities to take part. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! This October, we’re celebrating the skills, talents and contributions of people with disabilities in workplaces across Windsor and beyond.

The 2026 NDEAM theme, “Skills Grow Economies. Disability Inclusion Fuels the Growth,” highlights the value of recognizing talent, creating opportunities and building workplaces where people with disabilities can contribute and succeed.

We’re also proud to recognize that the City of Windsor has proclaimed October 2026 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month in Windsor. At Community Living Windsor, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to pursue meaningful employment, develop their skills and contribute to their community.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing stories and information about inclusive employment and the many ways people with disabilities are contributing to workplaces in our community. Let’s recognize skills. Create opportunities. Build inclusion.

September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day
Today, Community Living Windsor honours the Survivors of Residential Schools, remembers the children who never returned home, and recognizes the lasting impact on Indigenous families, communities and cultures.

As Canadians, this day is an opportunity to learn about our shared history, listen to Indigenous voices and reflect on our responsibility to support the ongoing journey of truth and reconciliation.
We remember. We learn. We commit to reconciliation.

Yesterday, Community Living Windsor was at the Windsor Regional Employment Network (WREN) Career Fair at the Caboto Club. It was a great opportunity to connect with job seekers, share more about the work we do at Community Living Windsor, and talk about career opportunities with our team.

Thank you to WREN for bringing together employers and job seekers from across Windsor-Essex. We enjoyed being part of the event and meeting so many people interested in learning more about employment opportunities in our community.
