A little piece of Singapore, here in Berlin. 🇸🇬

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate SG61 and commemorate the 60th anniversary of the National Pledge.

A special moment of the evening was watching a commemorative video and reciting the National Pledge together — a powerful reminder of the common values that unite us in our diversity, wherever we are.

We were also delighted by a special performance from fellow Singaporean Gillian Schneider Tan, who sang beloved classics including “Home” and “Singapura”, with fellow Singaporeans joining in. 🇸🇬🎶

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Singaporean celebration without good food! A huge thank you to Kaylin and Ma-Makan for the wonderful spread, featuring favourites such as laksa, chicken rice, nasi lemak, chendol and chwee kueh.

Thank you for making the evening one to remember. ❤️

🏎️ Have you ever visited a Formula One circuit?

If so, chances are you've experienced the work of a company from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) without even realising it.

TILKE Engineers & Architects, headquartered in Aachen, has completed more than 1,000 motorsports projects across over 50 countries. Their work can be found around the world, including in Singapore through the KF1 Karting Circuit in Kranji and the upcoming Porsche Experience Centre Singapore. 🛞

Companies like Tilke are part of what makes NRW such a dynamic economic powerhouse: industrial and manufacturing excellence by globally renowned corporations, Mittelstand, and startups, world-leading research institutions, and deep innovation networks. 💡⚙️

Second Secretary (Political) Max Heng visited Münster, Düsseldorf, and Aachen in NRW last week to learn more about the state's economic priorities and explore opportunities for deeper cooperation between NRW and Singapore. 🇩🇪🇸🇬

The visit offered a glimpse into the diversity, excellence, and innovation of NRW's economy, from Münster's digital innovation networks 🚀, to Düsseldorf's role as the political and economic centre of the state 🏛️, and Aachen's strengths in research, technology transfer, and advanced manufacturing🔬.

The discussions highlighted the immense potential for enhanced collaboration between NRW and Singapore, supported by the Germany-Singapore Strategic Partnership and Year of Innovation. 🌏✨

Our sincere thanks to all our partners and hosts for their warm hospitality and insightful discussions. We look forward to strengthening these connections in the years ahead!

Remember the heady days of the Kallang Roar and the Malaysia Cup? The Embassy hosted former national football player and Unleash the Roar!’s (UTR!) current football director Kadir Yahaya on 13 May 2026. UTR! is an initiative by Sports Singapore and the Football Association of Singapore to develop and promote football in Singapore.

Kadir and his team are currently visiting Germany to explore areas of exchange and collaboration with German football clubs. During his visit, Kadir and his team caught up with Ambassador Lee and the Embassy team to share his vision for Singapore football, and discuss how 🇸🇬 can deepen engagement with 🇩🇪 to strengthen the capabilities of our local football scene and support the professional development of our players and coaches.

We look forward to supporting The Lions at the AFC Asian Cup, starting January 2027!

🇸🇬🇩🇪 The Singapore Embassy hosted the annual Economic Coordination Meeting today, chaired by Ambassador Lee Chong Hock.

This year’s discussion brought together key German and Singaporean economic stakeholders for a productive exchange of views, including ways to deepen our Strategic Partnership as well as collaboration within the framework of the Singapore-Germany Year of Innovation (YOI). The YOI will enhance our collaboration in key areas such as AI, future and clean technologies, defence tech, start-ups, and workforce development.

The discussions reflected the deep and trusted partnership between Singapore and Germany, as we continue to work together to address shared challenges and harness emerging economic opportunities in the global landscape.
