The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt is pleased to support the work of Gonzalo Iguico (GI) Alltagsbetreuung for its work of drawing attention to the plight of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in the Philippines through its charity gala held at Brückenforum, Bonn on 5 September 2026.

With the number of PLHIV in the Philippines rapidly nearing 300,000, and with many new diagnoses coming from the youth, it is an intense, uphill battle. GI has partnered with Santibok Healthy Equity, a charitable NGO based in the Philippines that aims to remove the fear and stigma related to HIV treatment, founded by Dr. Mark Donald C. Reñosa, a University of Heidelberg-educated public health specialist.

The gala featured musical performances by Jamie Allisson from The Voice Kids – Germany, Season 14 and authentic Filipino cuisine.

More power to GI Alltagsbetreuung and Santibok Health Equity in their endeavors to bring compassion and humanity to HIV treatment in the Philippines.

🎮🇵🇭 Filipino talent takes the global stage at the recently concluded gamescom in Cologne.

Meet Ashley Tee, a Filipino technical and environment game artist and the youngest of just five scholars selected from around the world for the 2026 Global Game Jam (GGJ) – gamescom dev Scholar program. And she’s doing it all while still a university student—a remarkable achievement and a testament to the talent and potential of the next generation of Filipino game developers. 🇵🇭🎮🌍

Ashley’s journey in game development began in her first year of college, when she joined her first Global Game Jam and created her first-ever college game. Since then, she has participated in more than 10 game jams and contributed to seven game projects, while helping build the indie game development community in the Philippines.

She currently serves as Art Lead and co-founder of indie studio Many Bees, where she drives the creative vision behind their latest title, Scars of Harpuia. She is also a passionate advocate for the conservation and preservation of Philippine cultural arts, bringing Filipino creativity and heritage into the world of games.

Congratulations to Ashley! 🇵🇭🎮 With young Filipino talents like her, the future of Philippine game development looks bright. ❤️

Mabuhay ang galing Filipino! 🇵🇭

The bayanihan spirit was alive and well at Helping Hands e.V.’s annual gala, held at Boppard Stadthalle on 22 August.

Founded in 2005 by Filipinos and Germans with a shared love for the Philippines, Helping Hands has funded numerous aid projects in the Philippines throughout the years with the aim of helping communities in need. Their most recent endeavor provided financial support to the Balay ni Maria Domenica, a shelter for sick and elderly women run by the Camillan Sisters based in Digos, Davao del Sur.

In his message, Consul Miguel Hornilla thanked Helping Hands for their tireless efforts in giving back to the land where many of them were born, and living out the bayanihan spirit in Germany.

Congratulations to the organizers, led by President Gretchen Gipp, for a fun and memorable night that celebrated Filipino culture, talent and togetherness, and the enduring spirit of coming together to help our kababayans in need.
