English:

As the General Student Council (AStA) of Marburg University, we condemn the death threats and hostile acts directed at a professor at our university in recent months. Threats, attempts at intimidation, and hate have no place at our university and constitute an attack on the safety of those affected as well as on the foundations of an open and democratic academic life.
At the same time, this case raises the question of why it takes death threats and massive hostility of this magnitude for the university to take a public stand. It is unacceptable that those affected have been drawing attention to the escalation of threats for years without any visible or effective consequences. A university should not wait until the situation has already escalated to take a stand. It bears the responsibility to take a clear and unambiguous stance against any form of hate and misanthropic attacks at an early stage and to consistently support those affected. Furthermore, we would like to emphasize that exposing far-right structures at our university is not equivalent to death threats. We strongly criticize the university’s statement for treating both issues on the same level.

We therefore expect the university administration to take its responsibilities seriously, strengthen protection and support structures, and make it clear that threats against members of our university community will never be tolerated. This also includes taking a clear stand against far-right structures within the university. The university must establish and consistently implement clear, transparent, and binding procedures that protect those affected, take reports seriously, and address threatening situations at an early stage. This includes providing support to those affected, establishing clear lines of responsibility, communicating the steps being taken, and taking a clear stand against far-right structures within the university.
We stand in solidarity with Professor Christina Brüning and her research group. No one should have to fear for their personal safety because of their academic work or public stance.

Am Samstag wurde ein leerstehendes Gebäude der Rechtswissenschaften in Gießen besetzt und das FreiTraum-Haus eröffnet.

Wir fassen euch die Ergebnisse der StuPa Wahlen zusammen und erklären, warum Hochschulpolitik uns alle etwas angeht. Danke an alle, die gewählt haben und alle, die es nächstes Jahr (wieder) tun werden!

Liebe Studierende,

es ist soweit! Auch in diesem Jahr findet eine studentische Sozialerhebung statt. Dieses Semester dreht sie sich vor allem um die Themen Studienqualität, Studienzufriedenheit und Studienerfolg.

Erstmalig wird seitens der Studierendenschaft versucht, die Qualität der Lehre an der Philipps-Universität über alle Fachbereiche hinweg ausführlich zu erfassen. Mithilfe der Ergebnisse dieser Erhebung sollen die Fachschaften, das StuPa und der AStA dabei unterstützt werden, sich für eure Belange einzusetzen. Zudem sollen die Ergebnisse wissenschaftlich ausgewertet werden.

Wenn du möchtest, dass deine Meinung und Stimme gehört werden, dann mach am besten sofort mit! Die Teilnahme ist auf Deutsch und Englisch möglich.
