Today, on the auspicious occasion of Pongal, a festival of gratitude, harvest, and new beginnings, we are filled with joy to share a special announcement 🥰💃🏽🥰

With great happiness and pride, we are excited to save the date for our student
Divya Guntuku’s Bharatanatya Arangetram.
An Arangetram marks a dancer’s first full solo performance on stage — a significant milestone that celebrates years of dedication, discipline, and devotion to this sacred art form.

This will be the next major milestone at Geethalayam, and we are truly proud to see Divya step forward to learn and carry this beautiful tradition into the future.
More details to follow — for now, please reserve the day and join us in celebrating this special journey ✨

We are truly delighted to present our Chief Guest, Mrs. Niranshans Sureshkumar, to Miru’s Arangetram.

Born in Sri Lanka, Mrs. Sureshkumar began learning Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music at the age of five and trained under the legendary gurus Shri V.P. Dhananjayan and Smt. Shanta Dhananjayan.

She has performed internationally in Mohiniyattam and taught dance in Colombo. Beyond performance, she is a passionate advocate for Tamil arts, music, and storytelling, and serves as a producer and presenter for SRS Tamil Radio, where she continues to inspire audiences across generations. It is also through her role as Secretary of the Global Association of Sri Lankan Bharatanatyam Artists that many of us have had the privilege of knowing her.

Her remarkable contributions have been recognized with several honors, including the Tamil Amuthu Trust Alexandra Kelanra Award (2022) and the Best Kalaignarkal Award from the Thai Ullam Book of World Achievers (2020).

We are honored to have her with us today to bless and celebrate this special milestone in Miru’s artistic journey.

Our special guest for Miru’s Arangetram is Tusara Balandram Muguntharaj — a true reflection of dedication and cultural pride.
Born and raised in Denmark, Tusara has beautifully preserved her Tamil roots while excelling in Bharatanatyam, Tamil language, and arts.

She began her journey at the age of five under Mahaluxmy Sathiyamoorthi at Geethalayam and later continued under both Krishnapriya Gobinesan, completing her Arangetram. Her passion has also led her to study the Kalakshethra style in China and the Raadha Kalpa method in India with Rukmini Vijayakumar.

Beyond dance, Tusara serves as the Chairperson of Fredericia Malathy Tamil Kalaikoodam, teaching Tamil to the next generation while balancing her career as a food technology engineer.

She stands as a role model — proving that even when raised in Denmark, one can carry our traditions, art, and language with pride and grace. We are truly honoured to have her as a special guest.

🌸 Our wonderful hosts for Miru’s arangetram are Abishana and Abisharni, who just a month ago completed their arangetram. For the very first time, they step into the role of hosts — a beautiful way to continue their Bharatanatyam journey, deepening their connection to the art through new forms of expression and responsibility.

Among these strong and talented young women, we also welcome Ramanan — the only male presence among our artists. Having been a host for several Geethalayam events, his knowledge, dedication, and passion for our art and language are truly admirable. With a voice that unites and uplifts, he brings warmth and grace to every stage he stands on.

We are proud and honoured to have him join us as the host for Miru’s arangetram alongside our talented young women.

Next on stage is our student Divya Guntuku.
She will accompany on the tambura, bringing depth and resonance to the performance. The gentle drone of the tambura is the heartbeat of Indian classical music — steady, grounding, and ever-present — guiding dancers and musicians alike in their expression.

As Divya prepares for her upcoming arangetram, this role is also part of her learning journey, strengthening her understanding of rhythm, harmony, and the deeper connection between music and dance.

Together, as an ensemble of women on stage, we celebrate not only art but also the shared spirit of dedication and empowerment. 🌸

We are so excited to introduce our next female artist – Dr. Sai Sindhu Thangaraj A Carnatic vocalist whose journey started with Nadopasana Music School and later blossomed at Sahithya Sruthi Laya Music College under the guidance of Smt. Kumuthini Prithviraj. Her passion then took her all the way to Chennai, where she trained with the esteemed Dr. Mala Swamy and shaped her unique voice in the world of Carnatic music.

Alongside completing her vocal arangetram and graduating from the International Institute of Tamil Arts, Sai Sindhu also holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, balancing music, science, and life with incredible strength and grace.

She is proof that tradition, learning, and passion can empower women to rise, inspire, and shine.

✨ Breaking barriers with melody ✨
We are proud to present Preeti Mahenthran, the flautist for Miru’s Arangetram. For over 15 years, Preeti has been dedicated to the Carnatic flute, beginning her journey under Chittoor Shri T. Raghavaraman and continuing her advanced training with Shri Pitchaiappah Gnanavarathan.
She not only masters the flute but also shines as a Bharatanatyam dancer and Carnatic vocalist.

Her artistry is not only a celebration of tradition but also of women in the arts, proving that passion and creativity can thrive alongside a professional career.

We are delighted to present Dr. Ayushi Sowmya Ramachandran – a remarkable veena artiste whose journey with music began at the age of three in Coimbatore, India. Guided by Guru Smt. Seetha Balakrishnan, she gave her first solo performance at just ten years old, and her talent has since been recognized with multiple awards.

After a decade dedicated to higher education, Ayushi returned to her beloved veena in 2023. Now based in Oslo, she continues to inspire as a performer, vocalist, sitar player, and co-founder of the music group Isai with Imir.

Her story is one of passion, resilience, and devotion – and we are truly honored to have her with us for this special arangetram. 🌸
