🕯️ Remembering the Victims of the June Deportation

On June 14, black-and-white memorial ribbons will once again be displayed on railway station platforms across Estonia in memory of those whose lives were abruptly interrupted by the June deportation of 1941.

As part of the Naiskodukaitse silent remembrance event, “I Will Not Forget You,” representatives of the district government joined other participants in placing memorial ribbons on the platform of the Baltic Station.

🖤 June 14 marks the 85th anniversary of the June deportation of 1941—one of the most painful tragedies in Estonian history. On this day, we remember all those who suffered and lost their homes, loved ones, or lives.

🐾 Your Pet’s Well-Being Is the Owner’s Responsibility 🐶🐱

Please remember: dogs must be kept on a leash in public places, including Paljassaare, Merimets and the Neeme area.

A dog’s behaviour can be unpredictable. An unleashed dog may create dangerous situations for other animals and people, as well as for cyclists and runners using recreational trails. 🚴🏃

💩 Don’t forget to clean up after your pet — keeping our city clean and safe is a shared responsibility.

A responsible owner cares for their pet and respects others. ❤️

🐌 Special containers for collecting invasive slugs have been installed in Põhja-Tallinn!

⚠️ These containers are intended only for collecting invasive slugs – disposing of any other waste is prohibited!

📍 Container locations:
• Timuti–Heina intersection
• Neeme–Maleva intersection
• Sepa–Kopli intersection

Before placing slugs into the container, please put them in a plastic bag and seal it to prevent them from crawling out. 🚫 Metal or glass containers must not be placed in the collection bins.

🌱 The Spanish (Lusitanian) slug and the black-headed slug are widespread pests that cause significant problems for gardeners.

✅ Do not destroy native species such as the great grey slug and the black slug – they are beneficial for gardens.

🚧 Construction works will begin on Wednesday, June 10, at the intersection of Kolde Boulevard and Sõle Street, resulting in temporary traffic changes in the area until July 3.

During the works, the seaward carriageway of Kolde Boulevard will be closed to vehicles. Traffic towards Stroomi Beach will be redirected via Ehte Street. The intersection will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists.

🚌 Bus route No. 66 will also be temporarily rerouted. In the direction of Priisle, buses will travel via Ehte Street and Sõle Street. During this period, the Helme stop will be served on Ehte Street and the Nisu stop on Sõle Street.

The purpose of the construction works is to renew water supply and sewerage infrastructure. After the intersection is completed, the works will continue along Sõle Street up to Kaera Street and are expected to last until the end of the year. Temporary traffic restrictions should also be expected during the subsequent stages of the project.
