Have you been unable to locate a wreck or parts of it?

We carried out a wreck diving expedition on a site that had broken into four separate sections. Using side-scan sonar, we mapped the fragments and transferred the georeferenced images to an underwater tablet (Alltab). With the UWIS Navigator navigation application, we were able to move efficiently from one target to another.

The updated UWIS Viewer application now supports setting fixed positions for buoys.
This is particularly useful in situations where GPS accuracy is limited or when highly precise positioning is required. The images illustrate a scenario involving the positioning of a single diver/ROV in a river flowing through a city and beneath a bridge.

UWIS joined local divers and diving clubs in modeling the wreck of the barque Nordstiernan, which sank exactly 216 years ago.

The result was a precisely georeferenced 3D model, compiled from data collected over two separate dive trips by five different divers using a range of equipment.
