From bud to bloom 🌸

Our garden has burst into a technicolor wonderland this past week. 🧡💛💚🩷

This season invites us to slow down and take in the sounds, shapes, and colors nature so generously offers. A reminder to embrace it all with our whole being.

Tomorrow night we open the doors for our yearly Pride event: Pride by Night. This year’s theme is Mind, Body, Pride. 🌈✨

This night will be filled with creativity, community, mindfulness — and lots of love of course 🫶🏼

The event is free of charge.

A big thank you to for gifting herbs to our garden.

Wishing you all beautiful moments in nature and a nourishing start to the summer season ✨🌞

Midnight Sun Residency🌞✨

Escape to the Finnish countryside and experience the Midnight Sun Residency — a space for rest and creation. Surrounded by river, sea, and wild nature, it offers peaceful accommodation, creative workshops, and traditional sauna experiences under endless summer light.

With sunlight around the clock, this is a place to slow down, explore ideas, and reconnect with your creative rhythm. There are no fixed expectations — you are free to engage at your own pace.

We offer a basecamp, a curated creative mentorship to support each participant’s individual process and help you make the most of your time here.

We offer a peaceful tower studio overlooking the river and garden — a quiet space for both rest and creative work. The apartment includes a cozy loft, fireplace for slow Nordic evenings, and a dedicated studio filled with natural light day and night.

🏡✨🌿🫶🏼

Residency fee: €277/week

Mural opening in Närpes🦋

Yesterday we celebrated the official opening of our latest community mural together with Närpes Stad and Närpes Högstadium.

Made by the artist .gredmark

This mural was created from the students’ own interpretations of the city’s new strategy words, especially the idea of “Framåt tillsammans”.

Seeing their thoughts and voices become part of the city itself has been incredibly meaningful.

TACK! KIITOS! THANK YOU! - to everyone who painted, shared ideas, showed up, and made this project possible.

🩵

We’re so incredible happy to see how community art is spreading its wings all over Österbotten and bringing more and more people together.

If you are interested to find out more about the project, check out ’s latest article.

🤓Find it in our bio.

What is community art? 🎨✨

In Swedish, it’s called samhällskonst. In Finnish, yhteisötaide.

Community art is created with people, not just for them.

It brings people together, sparks conversations, and transforms public spaces into places of connection, creativity, and belonging.

When communities become co-creators, art becomes more than something we observe - it becomes something we experience together.

It grows from local stories and shared experiences along the Ostrobothnian coastline, from Kokkola in the north to Kristinestad in the south.

It can look like young people painting murals in their hometowns, or artworks created across generations — reflecting everyday life, shared places, and hopes for the future.

Through collaboration between artists, municipalities, schools, and local citizens, community art creates opportunities for creatives, strengthens cultural accessibility, and builds new connections across the region.

At its heart, community art is about caring for the people, places, and environments around us.

We believe creativity brings people together, makes shared spaces feel more alive, and creates small local changes that ripple far beyond them. 💛

Here are a few glimpses of the community art pieces we’ve co-created over the past year.

🌈 Pride by Night – Body Mind Pride 🌈

Welcome to celebrate Pride with us at Malakta – an evening for well-being, creativity, and inner strength.

We begin with a creative session where we explore all the colors of the rainbow, together or at your own pace.
Create, rest, or simply be – in a safe and playful environment.

We offer snacks and drinks (you’re also welcome to bring your own).

Throughout the night, there will be a chance to grill and hang out by the fire in the yard. In case of bad weather, we’ll move inside to ”tornet” with a warm fire in the large fireplace.

The evening ends with a One Love Ceremony – a cacao circle held by Jenny Finne opening space for presence, the power of love within us all, and a sense of connection.

We share a cup of ceremonial cacao, move slowly and land together in a deeply relaxing sound bath, inviting rest, recovery, and gentle presence in the body.

After the cacao ceremony, there will be time for after-glow mingle and community until 23:00 ✨
