Baldock Library The Library for Baldock Donate to Hertfordshire Libraries

It’s now easy to donate online to the library service by visiting our website.

We are often offered donations of money by users who wish to show their appreciation for the service. Those who visit the library are able to do this in person. Now you can also support the library service by donating online. You don't have to donate. Hertfordshire Libraries are a universal and free service to the community. Your decision to donate is an entirely voluntary one. We ask that you don

ate only as much as you feel comfortable with. You may want to consider either a one-off payment or more frequently.

100% of each donation goes directly to Hertfordshire Libraries and is used to maintain and enhance our services. https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/librarydonations

The Ballad of Ronan McCoy by Colin Morgan

Ronan McCoy is Brendan’s best friend, his only friend. Ronan is everything Brendan isn’t; popular, sporty and smart. It’s the first day of term after the summer holiday. Brendan is waiting at the school gates for Ronan. Brendan will be in for a long wait. Something terrible happened to Ronan in the summer holidays, it’s a wonder he survived. Life will never be the same. Brendan will have to learn to survive without Ronan’s protection. Friendship, first love, loss and letting go. The hope and fears of what’s to come. It’s all there in this deeply moving and beautifully written coming of age story. Stunning debut novel.

The House of Boleyn by Tracy Borman

Hever Castle, the brooding, breathtakingly stunning, watchful, protective backdrop to the rise and fall of the Boleyn family. 1509 was an eventful year for Thomas Boleyn. It would change the Boleyn family forever. King Henry VIII was quite taken with Thomas’ daughters. First Mary and then Anne. When Anne caught his eye, Hever castle would become her safe haven. The Boleyn family rose to giddying heights making plenty of enemies along the way. Their fall would be mighty, caused by ambitions overreached, enemies at court and betrayal within the family. When Anne became queen, the pressure was on to give birth to a son. When this didn’t happen her days as queen were numbered. This is an absolutely stunning, beautifully written thrilling read about family and history.
