Our Medical Director Chris Grant surprised Senior Paramedic Team Leader Connor Wardil recently at Formby station to present him with a 20 for 20 Award. 📜

Connor was nominated by his colleague and fellow Paramedic Fionn Laverty for going above and beyond every day, supporting people when they need him the most and delivering outstanding care to every patient he meets. She describes him as an exceptional and inspirational leader and a genuinely kind and caring person who makes a real difference to the lives of everyone around him. 🚑 ❤️

Our ‘20 for 20’ campaign gives us the chance to shine a light on our colleagues and celebrate what they do and say a big thank you for everything they bring to NWAS.

A team of our people are taking on a ‘Run the Towers’ relay challenge this November, running 250km in 24 hours to raise money for charity including North West Ambulance Charity .

Their challenge will begin at Beetham Tower in Manchester, heading towards St John's Beacon in Liverpool, followed by Blackpool Tower, and heading back to Greater Manchester finishing at MediaCityUK in Salford.

This is a huge test of endurance, teamwork, and determination, all to raise vital funds for two fantastic causes.

If you want to support the team to make it to that finish line, you can find out more by heading to the link in our bio.

Today, NWAS and NWAA Charity teamed up to provide online life-saving sessions for schoolchildren across the North West.

All for Restart a Heart Day.

More than 300 schools tuned in live for the lesson. That's thousands of children learning valuable skills that could save someone's life. ❤ Thank you for joining us

Last week, we joined the RNLI, Lancashire Police's Dive Team and Mountain Rescue in Morecambe for a training day focused on strengthening partnership working and enhancing patient care.

The day included a drowning rescue scenario and an RNLI demonstration of a mud rescue.

This collaboration is vital to help colleagues understand the water-related incidents they may face and how best to work together to help those in difficulty when needed.

From the army to prison healthcare… to the ambulance service and even Top Gear🚑📺

Dave “Stubbsie” Stubbs has had quite the career.

He joined the army at 16, trained as a nurse, worked in prison healthcare and eventually joined the ambulance service in 1995 – aged 36.

Now in his 31st year with us, he’s worked across Merseyside and Cheshire in a range of clinical and specialist roles, including SORT and HART.

And in 2018, he found himself on the Top Gear test track, representing the ambulance service in an Emergency Services Challenge against police and fire teams.

He officially retired in 2009… but came back the following year and is still working part-time today.

So what’s kept him coming back?

From sea cadet to EMT, Jasmine’s always been on a mission to help others⚓

Jasmine first joined the sea cadets at 13. Now, she’s an apprentice EMT at NWAS and a uniformed instructor with the sea cadets, helping the next generation find their feet (and maybe their sea legs!🛟).

After working her way up through the ranks, Jasmine became an instructor at 18, helping younger cadets learn new skills and develop their confidence.

Her passion for helping people doesn't stop there. Jasmine has always dreamed of working for the ambulance service and is now working towards completing her EMT training, with her sights set on becoming a paramedic one day.

“I’m incredibly proud to be both a sea cadet instructor, helping children learn and grow, and an EMT, helping people when they need it most,” she said.

Our ambulance staff spend their working days caring for people across the North West, but looking after one another matters too. 💚

This , we're shining a light on Paramedic Helena who recently organised a wellbeing walk for colleagues from Rochdale and Heywood. 🌳

It was a chance to step away from the pressures of work, enjoy some fresh air and spend time together. A lovely reminder of the importance of connection, conversation and looking out for each other.
