🏠 Bethania Chapel Community Consultation – Your Voice Matters!

Y Plant Affricanaidd is hosting a community consultation to explore the possibility of reopening Bethania Chapel in Mountain Ash as a welcoming local community hub.

The consultation is an opportunity for local residents to share their ideas, views, and hopes for the future of the chapel and help shape how it could be used to benefit the community.

For more than five years, YPA Cymru has supported African asylum-seeking, refugee, newly arrived and NRPF families facing poverty, isolation and serious housing difficulties.
Many of the families we meet are waiting for a Home Office decision and are unable to work. Others have recently received leave to remain and must quickly find accommodation, apply for benefits and begin rebuilding their lives.
Our support includes emergency food and essential items, safeguarding, family advocacy, parenting support, help accessing public services and referrals to specialist housing, welfare and immigration organisations.
Our strength is building trust with families who may feel uncertain about approaching statutory services. We work as a bridge between communities, public services and third-sector organisations, helping families access support earlier and avoid deeper crisis.
