Here is your reminder that even though Dorking Library is closed on Summer Bank Holiday on Monday 31st August, you can still use the library with Super Access. Book your induction today!

Also, we accept walk ins for inductions too, just ask at the desk anytime (subject to staff availability).

Meet author Matt Oldfield for an interactive talk, live readings & a fun Q&A session! Tuesday 18th August 11am at Dorking Library.

Join us for a lively and engaging event with bestselling children's author Matt Oldfield, co-creator of the popular Ultimate Football Heroes and Unbelievable Football series.

Matt will deliver an interactive talk about his writing journey, the inspiration behind his books, and what it’s like to write about football legends. He’ll also do live readings from some of his most popular titles, bringing the stories to life for fans of all ages.

The session will end with a Q&A, giving attendees the chance to ask Matt their burning questions—whether it’s about writing, football, or favourite players!
Tickets are £3 per child and booked on Eventbrite.

Badge making sessions this August at Dorking Library!
Join us on Saturday 8th August at 11.30am as part of Book Lover Day celebration. Book swap & various other crafts all day! ❤️📖✨
We will also make badges on Friday 21st August at 11.30am in our Teen section.
No booking required, drop ins are welcome. £2 for 2 badges, recommended age 4+

Dorking Library would like to invite you to a social get-together for those with dementia and their carers. We are meeting every other Friday 2-4pm at Dorking Library. Free refreshments provided. Next meeting is this Friday 24th July.

Great crafternooning last week making musical bamboo wind chimes to go with Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge.

The children coloured beautiful patterns on the canes, constructed the wooden chimes really well - and now have a summer of gentle chimes to enjoy.

Fun had by all. We are crafting every Thursday at 3.30pm - even during summer holidays! Attending our crafternoon counts as one of the goals completed for the Summer Reading Challenge.
