Scotland does not have a credible or coherent economic strategy, a think-tank told MSPs.
The Economy Committee also heard of a “comical failure” to connect Scotland’s economic challenges to the global picture.
Stephen Boyd of the Institute for Public Policy Research Scotland, was giving evidence to the committee as it continues to explore the key issues in its remit.
He warned MSPs that despite the dominance of news stories and debate about AI, it was unlikely to reverse Scotland’s low productivity rate or make up for the lack of workers in some sectors.
