Thanks to everyone who joined us at Dalkeith Art Centre last week for Tenants Day, where Midlothian Council tenants were able to meet our housing team and a wide range of local partners. It was a great opportunity to ask questions, get support and connect with local services. If you missed it, you can contact the team at [email protected]

🌍⚽️ World Cup spirit in full swing at Lasswade Primary!
Lasswade Primary School in Bonnyrigg brought the excitement of the global game straight to the dining hall with a brilliant ‘Summer Soccer’ themed menu inspired by flavours from around the world. From’ Kickin’ Chicken Bites to a 'Big Match' Margherita pizza with American-style wedges and sweetcorn, it was a winning lineup—finished off with fan favourite Scottish strawberries and strawberry ripple ice cream. 🍓🍦
The hall was alive with colour, decked out in World Cup flag bunting, while cooks Maureen Thompson, Sheena Connor and their incredible team—who serve up an amazing 1,000 meals a week—got into the spirit wearing Scotland Stetsons and a tartan tammy. 🎩🙌
Cabinet Member, Councillor Dianne Alexander joined nursery pupils Kai (5) and Lily (4) for a taster session, celebrating food that brings people together. She said there is nothing more delicious than a nutritious meal served with care and enjoyed in good company. 💙
From homemade soup to mountains of fresh fruit, the menu truly captured the spirit of the World Cup—bringing cultures together, celebrating teamwork and creating a shared sense of excitement across the school community. 🌎✨

Young people see Midlothian differently. They notice what works and what needs to be changed, from their local school to their neighbourhood.

The Young Midlothian Citizens’ Panel is now open to anyone aged 11–17 living in Midlothian.

We’re asking young people for their views on the priority themes shaping Vision 2050: Single Midlothian Plan, 2027–2030 — covering education, jobs, transport, mental health, community safety, climate action, tackling poverty, and more.

If you work with young people — as a teacher, youth worker, trainer, or mentor — please encourage them to join. Their feedback informs how Midlothian Community Planning Partnership plans services for young people.

Once signed up, members complete 1–2 short surveys a year, and become part of the conversation.
👉SIGN UP — it only takes two minutes:
