Starting secondary school can be an exciting but challenging time for young people, especially those who are adopted or care experienced.
Join us in Glasgow next month for a workshop designed to help parents and carers better understand the opportunities and challenges that come with secondary school, and how to confidently support their young person every step of the way.
In this workshop, we'll explore:
• How secondary schools work and how to build positive relationships with school staff.
• Supporting key transitions, from starting secondary through to preparing to leave.
• Understanding teenage brain development and how it can influence behaviour.
• How relationships with family, friends and others change during adolescence.
• An overview of national assessments and what they mean for your young person.
Delivered by Adoption UK Scotland trainers who are experienced educators with lived experience of adoption, this interactive workshop includes practical guidance, shared learning and plenty of time for questions.
