Supporting children through the move to secondary school can bring new opportunities and new challenges.

If you’re an adoptive parent or one of our foster carers, this free in-person workshop from Adoption UK Scotland could be a great of support and practical advice.

Find out more and sign up below 👇

Starting secondary school can be an exciting but challenging time for young people, especially those who are adopted or care experienced.

Join us in Glasgow next month for a workshop designed to help parents and carers better understand the opportunities and challenges that come with secondary school, and how to confidently support their young person every step of the way.

In this workshop, we'll explore:

• How secondary schools work and how to build positive relationships with school staff.
• Supporting key transitions, from starting secondary through to preparing to leave.
• Understanding teenage brain development and how it can influence behaviour.
• How relationships with family, friends and others change during adolescence.
• An overview of national assessments and what they mean for your young person.

Delivered by Adoption UK Scotland trainers who are experienced educators with lived experience of adoption, this interactive workshop includes practical guidance, shared learning and plenty of time for questions.

📍 Location: The Parkhead Hub, Duke St, Glasgow
📅 Date & time: Monday 7 September, 10am - 2:30pm

Sadly some children have never been outside the city or had the chance to visit a farm. Feeding animals, running through open spaces or enjoying a simple day out are experiences many of us take for granted, but for some children they’re completely new.

Fostering and adoption can open the door to these precious childhood moments and create memories that last a lifetime.

If you’ve ever thought about opening your heart and home, we’d love to hear from you.

Glasgow is buzzing! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨

The city is full of excitement as we cheer on Team Scotland at the Commonwealth Games.

If you’re heading into the city with the kids, did you know there’s a Clyde Club? It’s packed with children’s activities, competitions, giveaways, food and drink, and the chance to meet Clyde himself!

📍 Team Scotland House

It’s a great way to soak up the atmosphere and keep little ones entertained.

Summer holidays are full of moments like these…making memories and enjoying family days out.

But for many families, the holidays also mean juggling work, childcare and everything in between.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering but worried that you can’t afford to reduce your hours or step away from work, we’d love to talk to you.

We’re pleased to announce that our fostering fees will increase from October, recognising the vital role our foster carers play in the lives of Glasgow’s children.

While nobody fosters for the money, we know that better financial support can make fostering realistic option for more people.

Could you offer a child a safe, caring home?
