Glasgow's health and social care partnership is facing Β£100million deficit in the next 3 years. Officers first savings proposals to try to meet this deficit as part of their 'Step Forward' Programme amount to approx. Β£5million, but you can already see the damage these will do.

They include:
- Closure of over half of the Welfare Rights Service
- Closure of 6 out of 10 older people's day care centres
- Closure of Complex Needs Service + Enhanced Drug Treatment service

This programme will continue the persistent decimation of public services in Glasgow.

The Scottish Government has shown little to no care for the desperate situation Glasgow City HSCP has been in in recent years.

Question is, do the Scottish Government care about us having a health and social care system there for us when we need it?

At yesterday's Full Council meeting, Greens in the City Council brought forward a motion calling for further action in tackling violence against women and girls in Glasgow at source, & providing the right support for survivors, following the Action not Words campaign in the Glasgow Times.

This passed unanimously, & the main parties have released a joint statement following it's passing.

Lana Reid-McConnell: Green Councillor for Victoria Park & Cllr Anthony Carroll - Green Councillor for Dennistoun Ward are taking over from Cllr Jon Molyneux : Pollokshields ward & Martha Wardrop :: Scottish Greens as leaders of Green Councillors in Glasgow.

Greens are delighted that there has been a positive interim arrangement for Trongate 103. ✊

However, we still need to see a permanent solution that will secure the future of this cultural & artistic hub for Glasgow.
