Our Nature Summer Club might be over, but what a fab 5 weeks we had!
Thank you to everyone who came along, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
Sessions included wildlife trails, bug hunts, learning about peat bog, making bird feeders and making bird boxes.

Keep your eyes peeled for future events and activities.

Today we mark 20 years of World Ranger Day, honouring the extraordinary courage, commitment, and sacrifice of Rangers across the globe – those who stand on the frontlines protecting our natural and cultural heritage.

This year’s theme 'Rangers: Guardians of a Changing Planet', recognises that rangers are working in a world defined by rapid and complex change.

From escalating climate extremes and biodiversity loss, to increasing human-wildlife conflict, organised wildlife crime, and shifting social and political landscapes – rangers continue to serve as essential planetary health workers, safeguarding the future of our planet under ever more challenging conditions.

Today, and every day, we stand with the World's Rangers!

Karen from University of the Built Environment joined us on Monday for a Volunteer Day, just as she did last summer too.
She aided us with numerous different tasks and was an enormous help, so thank you very much Karen.

Firstly we had to tidy up the site and move around some infrastructure after another successful (& hot!) weekend of Run The Blades. We undertook some conservation work and cut back vegetation and willow out towards Corse Hill. We also installed a new dog poo bag dispenser at Ardochrig which we have christened the Karen Dog Poo Bag Dispenser!

Thanks so much

We're looking forward to welcoming back Breaking Strain for their 11th annual Run the Blades running festival this weekend (17th-19th July), with a 10k on Friday evening, 50k on Saturday 😱 and Half Marathon on Sunday! So here's your heads-up that Whitelee will be a lot busier than normal over these few days, with lots of participants across the weekend. There will also be set-up during the day on Friday, and an on-site parking system for race participants along the first array track from the visitor centre during the race days.

The atmosphere is always great and the medals are always top notch! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

What another great bunch of people we had for this year's Branching Out Programme! As usual, it went by in a flash, but we always find the programme so rewarding and enjoyable 😊

Well done to those who completed our Branching Out course yesterday. Thanks again to Whitelee Countryside Rangers for leading the group over the past 10weeks. The next outdoor course is our Natural Connections at the end of July 🌲🌺🐞
