Campaign for Socialism Campaign for Socialism (CfS) is a left-wing, democratic socialist group comprised of Scottish Labour Party members and supporters.

Join: http://www.campaignforsocialism.org.uk/join/ CfS was formed in 1994 as part of the left’s campaign to retain Clause 4 of the Labour Party’s constitution. The group now exists to promote socialist ideas and policies within the labour movement. CfS members are represented at every level of the party. As well as grassroots activists we have councillors, MSPs and members who sit on the Scottish

and UK Executive Committees. In 2017 CfS agreed to maintain a joint membership scheme with Momentum to help build the Labour left in Scotland and across the rest of the UK. CfS remains a separate and autonomous organisation, and makes political and campaign decisions relating to the Scottish Labour left.

Nominations havent even opened yet and all MSPs are well within their right to set out their vision for the party. Any notion of “vote splitting” is premature. There must be a broad and open contest.

An easily delivered win which should be at the top of everyone’s Agenda. Lack of access to affordable and healthy food is wrecking the health of many and during school holidays the problem worsens. Public diners can address that and so much more to strengthen our communities.

In five years Anas Sarwar presided over two election defeats, plummeting membership numbers and the lost faith of the Scottish working class.

While it is right he should go as leader it is a sad indictment of our democracy that such a man is rewarded for failure with a place in the House of Lords.

It is a further indictment of the internal reviews that members have been invited to share their views on the direction of the party when there so clearly has not been one for a long time.

We hope that Scottish Labour can begin the vital work of rebuilding through an open and democratic leadership contest so that it can once again become a mass membership party of the working class.
