David Hughes is an author and full-time martial arts instructor. He has a passion for storytelling and his writing journey began in the school library aged fourteen.
David grew up in Halifax and now resides in West Yorkshire with his wife and three children.

This promises to be an insightful and fascinating talk, with the opportunity to ask questions about both the writing process and the world David's stories are set in.

Step back in time at Todmorden Library!

It's almost 130 years since the doors opened, so we're marking the occasion with a little Victorian-themed fun for our younger visitors. Join us on Saturday 22nd August, from 10am to 4pm, for a family scavenger hunt, children's Victorian costumes to try on, and more!

Can't make it on the day?
Don't worry, we'll be celebrating throughout the month with special displays and a short film.

We can't wait to see you there! And keep an eye out... you might even spot a few library staff members dressed for the occasion too!
