And that's a WRAP on the Suffolk Show (Official) for 2026! 🥳

We've had another brilliant year - the theme was so fun and we really enjoyed meeting so many families and doing lots of different crafts and activities too!

We enjoyed:

🦖 Colouring sheets
🦖 Badge making
🦖 Tote bag designing
🦖 Plant pot decorating
🦖 Fish creating
🦖 Sticker collecting
🦖 Goodybag gifting

Despite the heat in and out of the tent, our fostering & adoption team truly got into the spirit!

A big thank you to Suffolk County Council for welcoming us back into the SCC tent - we're so grateful for the opportunity to have conversations that allow us to myth bust, share facts and stats and ultimately encourage people to consider whether fostering or adoption is right for them.

Our badge making activity was such a hit that we’ve run out 🙈 so we’ll be bringing some different crafts tomorrow to get stuck into!

This Foster Care Fortnight, we’re shining a light on our amazing local authority foster carers.
Catherine’s friends might think she’s a super mum, but she disagrees. She’s just living a normal, everyday family life with her husband and their two kids, and now their foster son as well.
They were already doing family things from playing in the garden, creating Lego masterpieces, going on day trips, doing homework and playing rugby when they realised they could look after another child too.

This Foster Care Fortnight, in partnership with Foster East, we’re shining a light on our amazing local authority foster carers.

Gary and his wife were inspired to get into fostering by some of the stories they heard about children in care when they were considering adoption.

Gary changed jobs from a management position to a warehouse worker to give him more time after work to be a great foster dad. He always makes sure he’s home in time for tea, to play with the kids and read bed-time stories, so their everyday routine always ends the same way.

This month we marked a fantastic milestone - the first anniversary of the Emergency Foster Care Hub (EFCH)! 🎉

In just twelve months, this service has grown from a brand‑new pilot into a trusted, essential part of Suffolk’s support network, making a real and lasting difference for children entering care.

Thanks to the dedication of all professionals working together, children are welcomed into warm, nurturing environments where they feel safe, supported and understood.

Our foster carers come from all walks of life, but their heart is the same - to create a safe and stable environment for every child that walks into their home.

💭 Emma is a foster carer in Suffolk and shares:
“We love seeing the children thrive and grow and become confident in themselves, it is so rewarding. Our family home offers stability and normality like routines and boundaries which all helps make a child feel safe. We have been fortunate to have had many different children come and live with us, short term, short breaks, long term and moved on to adoption. I particularly enjoy working with other professionals and agencies and also being an advocate for the children. On a bad day we may question why we foster but through the good, bad and ugly we are making a difference to those that need it.” 💛
