Last night myself and my husband attended the LDA 3rd charity ball at kettering park hotel.

The charity ball was raising money for the learning disability department at kettering general hospital to enable further staff training, create care packages and other items that could support those with learning disabilities or autism.

The charity ball has grown from a fundraiser to a safe community event where those within the learning disability and autism community come to enjoy a night that is for them.

Amber was an awesome host!

Brooke had an amazing voice!

And our table friends Nigel and Sharon were super kind and donated their raffle prize to my chosen charity for the year Home-Start Kettering Area!

Thank you so much to all involved!

What a super evening with super people! ❤️

Yesterday afternoon, I went along to the 5th and 20th Kettering Scouts large scale pioneering day at the Woodcroft Scout hut. Along with my youngest daughter and representatives from the Ise Valley Scouts (my local group).

When we turned up my daughters response was ‘If this is what the Scouts is all about, I’m in!’

They had spent the morning making a high wire and a zip line. We all had ago- it was so much fun.

All the volunteers there were amazing and had such incredible knowledge!

A huge shout out to Sarah for inviting me and telling me all about the history of the event. Mike for explaining knots and Ben for pushing me down the zip line!

I’m looking forward to joining you for the camp out in July!

Volunteers are the backbone of our community! Once again happy Volunteers week- thank you to all the people who help out at charities and organisations - you are superstars!!!!

Yesterday, I went along to Weavers Medical open day to learn about their new total triage system, along with Kettering Central Ward Councillors Liane and Clive.

There was so much information available and every clinician at the surgery seems to have a different speciality, mental health, women’s health, healthy eating, vaccinations the list goes on.

Local charities Mind and Support Northants (SNN) were both there sharing their expertise.

I learnt about putting giraffe ears on which open your heart to hear what people are saying in a different way. And respond to anger with care. This really resonated with me and I am going to look into this further 🦒🦒

A huge thank you to Weavers Medical for making me feel so welcome and for putting on such a great display of what they have to offer.

Soi Dog supports cat and dog welfare in Asia and has done such amazing things!
You’re all amazing!

I popped into Board games of Kettering last night to have a quick catch up with Polly and Dez ahead of their Lucky Chucks Take-over on Tuesday 9th June from 6pm. It’s set to be an awesome night.

The Northants Boardgame Convention is also coming up on 31st July and 1st August at Kettering Arts Centre. Myself and my eldest daughter had the best time volunteering at the event last year and I’m looking forward to taking part in the Connect 4 challenge this Summer.

Follow their page for more details of all their events 🎲♟️♣️♥️

Volunteer Week runs from 1st–7th June, and my Mayors charity of the year Home-Start Kettering Area are finishing the week with a Volunteer Event at Wicksteed Park Junior parkrun! 🎉

Come along to find out more about volunteering with them and the incredible impact volunteers have on our local community. There may even have some cakes for sale too 🧁🍰

Junior parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for children aged 4–14 years.

It costs nothing to take part and is a fantastic way to get active, have fun, and meet other people.

Please register with parkrun before your first visit. You only need to register once, and don’t forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode. If you forget your barcode, you won’t receive a time.
We’d all love to see you there on Sunday 7th June at 9am!

My eldest daughter has volunteered for Park Run as part of her DofE and has had the most fun whilst helping an amazing event! I’m looking forward to our favourite charities coming together! I love a collab- this is what community spirit is all about!

It is going to be an amazing event! 💜🧡

Yesterday evening, I went to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of The Olde Three C***s in Brigstock with my family and friends.

This was the first event I was invited to and has been in my calendar for ages, and it just so happens to be around the corner from my Mum and Dads house, so I’ve been really looking forward to it, and and it didn’t disappoint🤗

The event was amazing firstly, the accidental mascot of the Pub Betty the Spaniel is the most calm natured dog ever- she is a Princess!

Secondly, there were so many events going on, on the day including a charity horse racing event, hog roast and music.

And finally, the location was beautiful, the Pub was gorgeous and the people were just the nicest! I made some new friends Cookie who is about to drive the Rust Bucket challenge for Petals and a Bee Keeper who has created a new app for farmers to alert others about spraying fields.

I am very jealous that this is not my local Pub. However I will definitely be going back for a Sunday dinner soon.

Ps I was allowed behind the bar to pour my husband’s pint of Guinness! I’m going to say it was the best pint outside of Ireland he’s had because I poured it 😂😂

It’s my middle daughters Birthday party today- so I am on Mum duty!

I hope everyone has a fab day!

I had the best afternoon at the Kettering Town Council Volunteer Fair.

I am a bit too chatty and so I didn’t get to speak to as many people as I would have liked to! It would have had to go on for another 6 hours at the rate I was going!

A big shout out to all the volunteers! I look forward to celebrating you over the following week and beyond!

I had a fab start to my day at the plant sale at St. Micheal’s Church for the 5th Kettering Scout group!

It is the 21st year of the plant sale and the 100th year of the 5th Kettering Scout group so celebrations all around!

Thank you for welcoming me today- I met the nicest people and enjoyed chatting to the Cubs about their mini garden competition!

I’m looking forward to coming along to your next event with my honorary Scout group!
